LOL... no... but it wasn't fun to watch and I don't suggest it to anyone. Faces of Death = evil!

But I would assume that that isn't the normal method used to slaughter a cow, just the kosher method. And regardless, it's still more humane than shoving a metal tube down it's throat and force-feeding it.

We talk about human things forgetting how animals eat other animals... Especially the ones that chow down while the other one is still alive.

It's more than that. Sweatshop labour provides us with cheap goods. Cheap and convenient. Most people just don't care about sweatshops because it means they can buy their $5 tshirts at wal-mart (I never buy anything from WM, by the way; from what I understand the majority of their goods come from sweatshops).

Either that or they're just plain ignorant of it.

If you want to support sweatshop-free industry, based in america, making good qaulity merchandise, check out American Apparel. Their factory is in downtown LA; their workers are paid and treated very well, and their product is very well made (I/my husband have several).

Faces of Death should be shown to every school child in America. XD!

I dunno, I think it makes some important political and philisophical statements about humanity. Although I just couldn't watch the seal clubbings ;_;

Yeah, but they don't do it en mass, as humans do.

And that's the point. No one cares because basketball players get to wear their overpriced sneakers, and then all the little wannabes want to wear them too, so the companies make loads of money, and everyone chooses to look the other way.

I don't wear nikes XD! And whenever possible, I buy from places that I know are sweatshop-free.

But Ming is right. People look the other way because they don't care, or like to pretend that it's not important, or because it's not worth it to them, or because they are making too much money to bother.

If it makes you feel any better every car I've ever owned was either built in the US or Japan or a cobination of both. I don't have any silly cars build in mexico, canada, korea, tiwan, etc.... well wait... maybe the civic i had was made in cananda... But then again, it's the only non mitsu or nissan car i've owned.

THing is parts are made all over. So regardless if the car was built here, the parts were manufactured in other contries (not limited to Canada and Japan).

And ultimately, because they are getting something out of the situation. Wannabes get their basketball shoes, and rich people get to eat their overpriced diseased liver. It's like if they don't see it, then it's ok.

And it's a shame that even people who don't agree with the production of foie grois are willing to sacrifice the well-being of these animals to say that the law is silly because the government shouldn't be able to tell you what you can and can't eat. Like I keep saying, just because something is legal doen't make it moral. Where does the line get drawn?
