Most people I know who have a PS3 say it is not worth it at this point thanks to the lack of games. And for me, there is nothing on the PS3 that really impresses me that much either.
Backwards compatibility on the 360 has disappointed me only because my Xbox drive had failed and I can not play it anymore. However, considering that I have a working PS2, the issue is not as important for me since my PS2 is connected by component and if/when I get a PS3, it will be connected by an HDMI cable instead. |

At least you guys have got proper backwards compat on the Ps3, Sony are giving the PAL machines a cut-down version... |

That was the point of asking the question again.
Backwards Compatibility is important to me... and you know if they are doing it to Europe... The same units will soon hit NA and Japan to cut costs.
So, with that info, should I do it.
I'm starting to lean in the direction that I should, however I may wait until an official announcement about it. |

Might aswell if its technically free and you want one anyway.
I'm unsure that they will cut the BC on the US and JP units, tbh, they like anally raping Europe, sometimes more so than Nintendo do! |

It wouldn't bother me so much if I saw they were passing on the savings.
And honestly, what's more expensive in the long run, including the hardware, or paying a group of people to make emulation software. |

I really wouldnt give a damn about wether it was hardware or software based if the price was dropped to something alot more reasonable!
TBH, I dont even use my PS2 to play PS1 games, and only use my DS Lite to play my GBA games because I have an original GBA which gives me really bad neck cramps from trying to get the right ammount of light on the damn screen! |
