Its roughly 35 ft Dai, but do a search on Youtube for the NERF Longshot and you'll find people that have modded it by changing the spring and removing the air restrictor and it increased the velocity and range to 70-100ft. 
I got mine yesterday - its friggin huge. Can't wait to tear it apart to paint it and mod it. |

If you mod the firing mechanism to make it shoot further, you have to let us know how. I'm sure there are plenty of people here who'd love to have better range on it. |

See what ya need is some Airsoft Guns.
Set me back about $50 for both guns, the extra clips, and a 1000 rounds of ammo. But be warned, and less than about 20 ft, these things can really put a hurt on you. They also come in Semi and Full auto, battery powered or compressed air models, and my favorite, a spring model Sniper Rifle with reach out to 350 ft, after modding ofcourse.

My cousin and his friends like to run around shooting each other with Airsoft guns. I belive Tobs has joined in on the festivities on a number of occasions.
Does anyone remember the old-school Nerf bow and arrow? Anyone ever take one of those to the face? I don't remember if I ever did, but from what I remember about the old bow and arrow...safe my ass. That's the way toys should be again, in my opinion. |

I believe it also splits into two separate guns. Either that, or the sniper bit is an attachment. Either way, it's got at least one regular gun, too. |

Those things were the bomb. My friend and I would play that like maniacs. We each had a bow and started with something like 6 arrows. Because the basement was quite small, ammunition could easily be scooped up and used again.
I remember getting a Manta Ray much later on. That gun was badass but I had nobody to shoot it with.  |

Well, I went out to Target yesterday. They had a Longshot, but after debating for a little while I decided I didn't feel like spending the $30 right then. Instead, I picked myself up a Maverick. HOLY CRAP...I'm convinced it's the greatest Nerf gun ever made. I can't wait to get up the nerve to finally pry it open and mod it so that it shoots further. Although, it's still pretty impressive stock. The colors are great (I have the new yellow and black one), the design is great, the sounds it makes makes you feel like you're playing with a real gun, and the best part....it's $7.
Later on, Tobs was so impressed with it that we had to make another trip to Target because he had to have one also. However, he also bought himself a Longshot. The sheer size of the thing is impressive. I just wish they hadn't been gimmicky and added another "bonus" blaster to it. I think it takes away from the overall cool factor.
Oh well...I guess I'm going to have to go out now and buy my own Longshot... |
