Alot of people are gonna use all those legendaries, cause if you think about it, a lot of Pokemon players are kids and from my experience playing pokemon against them, they tend to use just the special pokemon. If that keeps being the case, build a legendary assassin team.

But can't you set rules like in Pokemon Battle Tower? I would just do the no legendary rules. makes people think more strategicly instead of just whippin out super powerful poke 1-6.

Also I read the strategy guide at work last night and it says you can get mystery gifts from Battle Rev. I wonder if you can unlock those last three pokes this way.

It also looks like I can make a pretty decent looking Nog on there with the Muslce Man, altough it may take some work.

You can't set the rules online. It's Level 50 Pokes and you can only choose whether it's one on one or double battles. If they do include the Legendaries in the rental Pokes that's bogus. If everyone can have them then what makes them special?

The best review is from IGN. It lays out the negatives and positives and while I am a true Pokefanatic I do agree with them in the shallowness of the game to the average gameplayer. For some reason I cannot fathom, Nintendo took ten steps backwards making this game. There is no story mode at all so the 1P game is pretty base and the online component has no stat tracking or leaderboard. I didn't expect Nin (or Sony) to recreate XBLive overnight but this is really wasteful. You get a better overall game from Diamond/Pearl. The only real plus in owning PBR, if you're not a real Pokenut, is seeing them battle in 3D and even that could have been done better.

Also, you can save your battle pass to your Wiimote but it will save over other game data if there is some on your Wiimote. I t WILL NOT save over your Mii data (Nintendo's property) but it will overwrite any other data if it has to. Oh, and it won't tell you what that data is. I didn't even know I had data saved on my Wiimote until it told me it was going to save over it. I sismply declined the offer.

As long as you take the time to set up rules offline with whoever you're playing (and I would) then it's a nice experience online but since I don't want to use This Pokemon and That Pokemon just because everyone else is, I'm a little bummed. And the two times I was about to beat the Dialga/Palkia teams I got "interrupted".

from serebii.net-

In a move that is likely to infuriate some, and yet please others, according to many reports across the community of which are not yet 100% confirmed, Nintendo has, as of today, seemingly banned Legendary Pokémon from being able to be used in a Battle Pass on the Battle Revolution Random Online Matches. This seems to be due to the massive amount of people going online with nothing but teams of Pokémon known in the community as "Ubers" such as people having a team of, for example; Dialga, Palkia, Mewtwo, Giratina, Lugia & Manaphy. This thus made the balance unfair for the trainers who were using their favourites throughout the game
It is unknown if Nintendo will re-instate the ability to utilise these Pokémon in the near-future, but for the time being, it appears you are free to battle with your normal non-legendary Pokémon on the Random Online feature. You're still able to utilise the legendary Pokémon in Friend Code battles however as well as the single player of the main game.

Update @ 21:04 BST: It would seem that, according to many people in some unconfirmed reports that Nintendo has not placed a ban upon the legendaries, but rather a glitch in the WiFi Connection system prevents your Battle Passes with the legendaries in from being accepted. According to a variety of reports, if you reset the Battle Pass, it should work, but we do not know whether this was an intentional thing and this is a way to get round it or whether it was actually a glitch. We'll keep you aprised on any further developments.

I don't care if Nin did this by choice or mistake but I applaud it. I happily went online (as did my son) and did around 3 hours of battling with nary a legendary in sight. We both had a perfect day as my son ran off 6 straight wins and I grabbed 2 or so.

Hopefully Nin will create a true dedicated server or home for the game where you can have Legendaries if you wish but to ban them now is the right move IMO.

Being "Legendary" Pokemon, it would imply that there is, perhaps, one of them in the entire world, and thus, while you can get them in your game, it wouldn't make sense for them to be available to everyone in the Pokeworld. I like the idea of not permitting them to exist on-line in general.

And this is why they should have done rule sets for battles. It would save a lot of frustration for a lot of people. That's why I'm still wary of trying to battle online, or might just make a team to take out Legendaries.
