So...if a tree falls in the forest, and there isn't any women around...is it still the man's fault?
im gonna go away.
Oh...and if buttered toast ALWAYS lands butter-side down, and a cat ALWAYS lands on its paws...
...What happens if you tie a piece of Buttered toast, buttered side UP onto the back of a cat, and drop it?
And on this subject...what happens when you divide by zero? |

Tobi--
1) yes. It's always the man's fault, moreso when there isn't a woman around.
2) Mythbusters tested the buttered toast theory. It's totally Busted. ^_- So the toast would then land up, because it's completely true that cats -nearly- always land on their feet (there are situations wherein the poor things are just really clumsy/off-balance due to physiological issues and can't get themselves turned around in time, etc).
3) I forget if you get 1 or 0. Math is not my forte. |

If a tree falls in a forest, and there is no one around to hear it, diid chuck norris REALLY kick it down?
TRICK QUESTION!!!! CHUCK NORRIS CAN KICK IT DOWN WITHOUT USING HIS LEGS! |

You can't divide by zero. Ever. The answer doesn't exist.
However, zero divided by something (besides zero) equals zero, always.
I bet Chuck Norris can't get an answer by dividing by zero. |

Nari is correct.
x/0 = NaN (not a number)
However...
x / y = z
doesn't matter what x is. As y APPROACHES 0 (.01, .001, .0001), z APPROACHES Infinity.
So you could say...
x/0 = Infinity
But that's not entirely accurate. |

*also doesn't think Chuck Norris can round-house kick me through the intertubes*
So yeah, I'm right. :]
Shino, I think 0/0 would equal infinity, but .9999... also equals one (without rounding), so math for me loses its infallibility preeetty quickly there. I guess to counter that, there must be some sort of asymptote at y=0 where z would stop existing, but you could potentially never reach zero...Rawr.
AND I believe Pi has an end. Somewhere. I know, mathematical heresy. |
