That was something I spent a lot of time and energy looking for in a school. I applied to four schools, and the largest has only 5,000 students. The other three, Beloit included, house not much more than 1500, which is smaller than my high school. The result is a much more personal atmosphere around the entire campus, and that is something without which I could not survive.
Beloit is my third pick out of four. I got rejected by number two, and I have yet to receive word from number four (Baldwin-Wallace) or number one (Hampshire College). Both should come within the next couple of weeks.
Keep all your fingers crossed, because Hampshire is the place I want to be, by a huge margin. Not only is it closer to friends and family, it is part of the Five College Consortium, with access to classes in all five colleges, and it is a school completely different from almost any other. Everybody on campus, from the students to the teachers to the administrative staff, is there because that is the place they want to be, and for no other reason, and the entire school radiates this immense positive energy; I could feel it the entire time I was there, almost like a resonance, just rolling off of everybody in waves. It was astounding. I didn't even realize just how good it was until I visited the other three schools, and all three felt like there was something missing. It took me the entire twenty-something drive home from Illinois to figure it out, and then it hit me somewhere around mile six million like a ball-peen hammer to the middle of my forehead, and I went "Oh...wow. That's where I want to be."
And they have a pizza oven. |

Not bad mate, not bad at all. Life got away from me and college became an opportunity missed (Im doing very well though), but I saw a lot of my mates go off to college far too young and most crashed and burned. Your defiantly college caliber however, I hope you get your first choice! |

eh...don't worry about it man. You know, they're just missing out on an awesome student. If i were on Hampshire's admissions board, i would have taken ya in no-sweat. You've got potential man.
