yes but who has more supporters then Sony right now.
Everyone signed on with PS2 will sign on for PSP considering they can make ports of all their games and not lose that much quality.
And to work with a media that is small, cheap, and holds 1.8G
Developers would be dumb not to jump on this band wagon |

Well I'm gonna hit this one up with pure Spockian logic and not emotion.
PS has no comp whatsoever from the DS. The DS is the grandest design of "This sounds so cool...for a piece of garbage. How the hell do you play a first person shooter multiplayer with a stylus in your right hand? A touch screen when you need both hands to hold the system is pure genius.
Metroid gameplay example from Gamespot
"You'll use the D pad on the unit to move forward and backward as well as to strafe. Either of the unit's shoulder buttons can be used to lock on to your opponent. Aiming, firing, turning, and switching weapons will require you to use the unit's stylus on the touch screen, which comes as a surprise. Basically you'll have to have your stylus on the touch screen to aim your weapon. Tapping the screen will fire your weapons. When you're using a beam weapon, repeatedly tapping the screen will fire off bursts"
OK, so I'm holding the unit with my left hand and tapping it really fast with my right...sounds like a solo sexual excercise to me.
But back to the PSP
I look at the game list and see EA making ports of all of their games, Activision porting their stuff, Uncle Ben porting his rice, and McDonalds porting their burgers. So where are the PSP games? These are all going to be stripped down PS2 games. Screw the fact that I can now play my TV sized game on a tiny screen (What joy!). Reality check, 18 bazillion people already have these games, why would they now spend $250 to play them without the full features?
A portable dvd player for $200? Like we don't have those now? Ithought this stood for PlayStation Portable. The reson the Gameboy has stood the test of time is because it never tried to be a home console. GB games have always (for better or worse) had that GB-style look and feel. Note how even today most games have superdeformed looks instead of realistic altho they could have them.
I also don't need a personal GPS, I'm too old to get lost.
Nope, can't say I'll run out and get a PSP unless they give me a good game that I cannot play on my PS2 and I don't mean "wireless link up" abilities. I'll get Majesco's $10 wireless link that works on any link cable programmed GB game. Now that's affordable technology. http://gameboy.ign.com/articles/515/515156p1.html |

DS is backwards compatible. Just wanted to point that out. I think it's very innovative and I'll give it a shot. I mean Wind Waker looked bad but turned out good. I guess Im just going to have to wait and see. |

DS- Circa 80's, fat, game and watch design. sub par N64 graphics with a gimicky interface. Could be neat if they utilize correctly... I guess.
PSP- Sexy piece of hardware, power somewhere between dreamcast and PS2, plays MP3s and movies -if you want to buy a special UMD version of a movie that is- lots of ports of already exsisting games and hey a metal gear solid card game ... >_>
Definitely far more excited about the PSP at this point, but I need exclusive games that make me want to buy it first.
I'm going to wait and see. My GBA SP is fine and dandy for right now anyway.

Yep. It's got two media ports from what I read. One for DS games and the other for pre-existing gameboy games.
Edit:

Even IGN likes it and they rarely like anything. |
