Any one seen Van helsing?

It was an OK movie, if you liked LOEG or Hellboy, you'll like VH. I understand it's meant to be fictional, but certain aspects broke the illusion. A perfect example was when Kate Beckinsale's character is swinging down off of the roof of the castle, and manages to catch a seringe being thrown to her from another character from a bridge below. I'm sorry, but there's a certain amount of realism that even fantasy movies must maintain, and this, IMHO, broke it like a baseball in a window. The rest of the movie wasn't bad, The story should have been MUCH deeper.

I just saw it (and at a Drive-In, no less), and I came to much the same conclusion as Terin. It reminded me a lot of Hellboy, except that I liked Hellboy slightly more, style wise. Van Helsing did have the advantage of not being based off of a comic i knew, though.

Yeah but I LIKED Hellboy..a HELL (hehehe) of a lot more than Van Hellsing.

I didn't like how they made Werewolves mindless death monkeys. I mean how is a thing thats only construct is to gnaw, rip, and tear supposed to defeat a fully aware 400 year old person that can shape-shift and mass produce?

I did like that the chick died and Hellsing was the one to kill her..I thought that was pretty sweet. Gives ya that whole world isn't a perfect place feeling which gave me the warm fuzzies.
