Az is correct, of course. Shotguns are very point and click, and since most home invasions happen at night, you dont have to be a surgeon with it, just wave it north and pull the trigger and you'll seroius injure your new guest, and a few more pumps will get the job done if he's still screaming. I hate to be morbid, but if anyone ever comes in my home, thats a threat to me, my wife, and in the future my children, and that will not be met with anything but leathel retalliation.

Also, if I recall, Im not sure you even need a lisence to own a shot gun, am I right? You just have to be oaver 18 or 21.

Im not very knowledged in the way of gun ownership but I believe there is a waiting period before you can buy one so they can do a thorough background check on you.

It is getting more and more common for people not to feel safe in their own homes. It is very sad when it gets to that point but as our society as a whole degenerates, families must take drastic measures in order to feel safe.

I personally have a hatchet and knife set that is under my pillow at all times and a loaded Remington 870 express, pump action, 12gauge shotgun in my gunsafe an arms legnth away from the bed. When I go to bed at night I keep the key in it for easy acess.

Personally, I would like to believe that if someone were to break into my house I could easily just point and shoot with out a second thought. But the truth is no one really knows what they would do until that position presents itself. If not for that reason alone a shotgun is better for home security. Preferably pump action, because I cant imagine anything more frightening than to be walking along someplace where I dont belong and hearing that trademark pump, as a shell that could easily blow a mans head clean off is loaded into the barel. If the burgular is ballzy enough to keep walking and not turn tale and run the he deserves whatever comes outta the end of that barrel.

I have a shotgun, 12gauge pump action under my bed (no younger siblings to worry about) and i can roll off my and grab with the shells ready to load if i do need to protect myself. but it sad..very sad that you can't feel safe in your own home!

my dad bough it when i was 14. I've been hunting since i was 13 but i used my dad's other gun. So in other words i know how to use it responsibly. Oh and I'm not little!! Young? Yes but not little and I'll be 16 this year!
