They heard the START of the War. The actual war takes a long ass time. What i meant was about the plans to send a terminator back in time to assassinate John conner in the past.

Man don’t get me started I have analyzed the time travel principles in the movie thoroughly.
and no the war does NOT take a long time, remember back to terminator 1) reace said that they had pretty much beaten sky net, and that killing Conner then would have no effect. that’s why the sent the terminator back. so the war couldn’t have been going for more than 20 years.
2) and the start of the war was the nuclear bombardment of the planet soooo that is when the heaviest blow fell.

small things can be changed, such as minor people getting killed, but judgment day, him getting married and such. one crazy thing to think about,
You know that deer at the start that made him crash, that deer in a sense saved humanity, because if he didn’t crash he wouldn’t have found the chick, and the terminators would not have found him which led him to the point it ends on.

Also,
it is impossible for sky net to not exist, because the technology came from the original terminator which was sent back by sky net so in a sense it created itself in the past, but since it happened in the past its there in the future.

Yea i know that the terminators going back in time was a last ditch effort by skynet at the end of the war. What i was saying was that they KNOW about skynet's plan to send the terminators back in time. Now that happens at the END of the war. They are at the Beginning. They have a chance to prevent skynet from using time travel to send back terminators. If they do this they can stop skynet's start in the past. Kinda see what im getting at?

Well if its near the end and they are near the beginning theres a mighty big gap of time in which skynet can act before the time machine goes kablammo. Now if they destroy the time machine before skynet can do anything with it, then see what im gettin at?

That would require you to send troups through the time machine, alot of them, to attack skynet at its full stregnth once agian. I dont think any one would wanna do that.

That's true but would you rather live in a post-apacalypse world or risk it and try to fix time? I dunno it's all what-ifs, anything could have happened or will happen or happened already (damn time travel)

You're missing the BIGGEST thing.. The time machine wasn't manufactured until the end of the war...IE the technology didn't exist. So instead of sending back a kill-bot they'd need to send a science bot because I'm sure there's like plasma and wierd metals and a monkey involved in the process.

Also you can't send back a time machine through a time machine...Cause if just GOING through time don't rip it asunder I'm SURE that will.

Also in the beginning skynet was only sentient it wasn't intelligent. It just nuked everyone and for like a couple years humans prolly sufferend nuklear winter. then Skynet was advanced enough to make the destroyer bots that rounded up the humans and issued orders....The actual terminators didn't kick in till Skynet was more advanced which was too little too late. Or so I assume.
