I would think that the breast enlargements are mainly done to family members of the soldiers and not the soldiers themselves...

Larry the Cable Guy has a bit where he says he goes to a carnival with a bunch of keychains and a sign that says "Guess your age." Then when the woman walks up, he says he has to feel her boobs then he can guess their age. If he gets it wrong, he just hands them a keychain.  |

I'm fairly certain they practice and are the best in REAL medicine..But sometimes obscurring your face with scars and burns can be more detrimental to your psyche then losing a limb or even just dying. Some people simply stop living when they feel that no one in the world will look at them the same way again. |

Well no, why would you go to a real plastic surgeon if your military pays for it. Az is right practice makes perfect and while plastic surgery is selective, cutting on a human is always pain stakingly difficult. As well as working on faces, that's some major technical work. While I'm not saying it's a great way to spend money, you understand that only military doctors are doing the surgeries. In the military if a military doctor can't solve a soldier illness, they send you to a specialist out of the service. This means, that military doctor is only getting payed his military check for being a doctor, not as much as a plastic surgeon is making in the private sector. So in all actuallity, the doc is getting payed the same in the service for a nose job as removing an apendix, or repairing brain damage, or setting a cast, it's all the same in the military, as far as the doctor's check, no necessarily the cost of treatment (drugs, bed stay, hospitalization) so don't blame the docs, it's not their fault, their just doing their jobs. |

I've never understood the military budget. Stuff like putting aside $1 BILLION to supply our troops with Viagra when they need it, but wouldn't give out something like the morning after pill.
As for plastic surgery, I can understand reconstructive surgery entirely. I just wish we would give more money to veterans benefits as well. You will eventually need more reconstructive surgery at some point, can't we pay for that? |
