Well, naturally. It's probably the same sort of thing that sold Night Trap, Grand theft Auto, Doom, Quake, etc. Any time a game has even the tiniest links to something like this, people want to know what the fuss is about, either to justify the need to censor it, or to get a few good gut-splattering combos of their own in.
Although I do have to agree with Doot. Media blaming media is kind of funny - starts proving the theories that the media really has nothing to do at all with the views of the people it represents... |

Forgot to quote and link evidence of second statement.
Quote: | Police involved in the Stefan Pakeerah murder case have revealed that the copy of Manhunt at the centre of a tabloid media frenzy last week was found in the possession of the victim, not the killer.
Newspapers and TV news channels gave significant coverage to the case last week, when the mother of the victim claimed that 17-year-old killer Warren LeBlanc had been "obsessed" with the ultra-violent Rockstar game.
However, according to a spokesperson for Leicestershire Constabulary, the police division which investigated the murder, the link is even more tenuous than was reported previously - with the game being found not in the room of the murderer, but of the victim. |
Quote: | The news will also pour cold water on the intentions of American lawyer Jack Thompson, infamous for his chasing of cases relating to what he judges to be immoral media. Thompson apparently plans to bring a major lawsuit on behalf of the Pakeerah family against Rockstar; the revelation that the game belonged to their son, not to the killer, may well mean that this case is quietly dropped. |

It's because that Ginamorous "MA" wasn't Ginamorous enough...Man Hunt was the only game I have EVER been carded for and I was 22 at the time of purchase and I've looked 27 years old since I was 17...(It's true ask the male nurse that inspected me when I had pneumonia...His exact words were, "You've got a great heart rate for a 27 year old." To which I replied, "I'm 17." His response, "Oh sh*t.") |

Same here, Faye. And every time someone tries to use that stupid "Video Games warp your mind" crap, a psychologist comes in and says that studies show that video games aren't directly related to human behavior.
That 17 year old was already messed up and had a drug problem. No wonder he killed his friend to buy more smack. |
