It seems like just another reasons for parents with too much free time, prudes, and Republicans (most of which fit all three demographs XD) to rag on gaming and gamers. It's one big scapegoat that doesn't deserve it.

hey, to be fair, i'm a republican and i hate censorship with every fiber of my being. i don't like the rating system anyway. AO games are gonna be like any other game, just more graphic... there will be good ones and bad ones. Frankly, stupid parents who buy games like that for a twelve year old child are one of the big thing i think is wrong with the world at large. parents should be careful to shelter their kids a little better with smothering them... tough to balance it i guess, oh well, whatever.

Stores not carrying them would probably change quite rapidly. One of the main reasons most places do not carry AO games, is that many of the major game sellers are places like Wal-Mart, which is hardly an exclusive game store. If many more AO games began to be published in the US, and sell, you can be sure some store will sell them. Just think of this, when was the last time you saw a porn video in Blockbuster, or Hollywood Video? But is there any doubt there are places that sell them, even exclusively, and make money from it?

if they do hit the shelves, you would probably find them in your local "Love Shack"

But i digress...i really dislike how people are trying to capitalize on this aspect of humaity. They say that two major selling points to games are Sex and Violence, and i dont mind the violence part because games are fantasy based...and any normal-minded person can pick up a violent game and understand the difference, and good parents wont let young kids play them.

But personally, sex in games is kind of pushing it. Its just trying to capitalize on the perv society of gaming. If you even look at it logistically...how are you supposed to make any good use of it anyways? You need both of your hands on the control to play the game...where a video doesnt need any hands to function...giving you complete freedom of your hands in that situation. *Grins maniacally*

That is all

Tobias makes some very good points. But an aspect that can be capitalized on that video games differ from videos is that video games are interactive. All videos are passive, which doesn't interest some people, while any game requires at least a minimum amount of input. Besides, at some point they actually did make a one handed controller for either the PS1 or PS2, I forget.

At the rate things are going gamers might soon be stereo typed as these anti-social sex-deprived nerds who have nothing better to do than kill people and look at some tits.

Yeah, this controller was supposedly an "RPG" controller made for PS1 right after FF7 hit it big. But why the heck would you want to restrict yourself to one handed gaming to play rpgs? It'd be alot easy to have full use of both hands on the controller so you can press all the buttons with ease.
