around here they have Silent Hill parties, where a friend of mine plays it, and the rest of us stand by in horror, screaming as random stuff happens in the game. It's pretty entertaining. |

well you could play the second one without playing the first one cuz its basically a standalone, but the third one won't make as much sense unless you have played the first one |

The 3rd staple in the series plays into and ties into the 4th game A TON. There are a huge amount of references and plot fills to it. Insane. The gameplay is very short and really not as involved as the first 3, but that is due to the fact that the game is more accessible. The first person mode is a bit touchy and a bit linear. You are really driven back to your room time and time again. Silent Hill is more art form than game. Probably the main reason for my liking it more than the Resident Evil games.
Go rent it if you've never played Silent Hill, and buy it now if you have. |

All I can say is while it is a game that gives me the chills each time. It's more fun to see everyone elses reactions. Makes it easier for me to play at least. Anybody got any methods to keep em from needing new pants each time? |

I think needing new pants is the fun part. I like to play Silent Hill 4(or any survival horror game) in the dead of night, alone. Just the feeling of fear and anxiety you get when you're waiting for something completely god awful to happen is the best! |
