Well, as much as I'd like to pity or sympathize with you, I cant. My mom has 4 dogs who dont mind and I have 3. Now one of mine minds, but on occasion, even he gets out of hand. Dogs are very different from cats in the aspect that cats take care of themselves because they can roam off wherever they want to. How much is the dog excercised? Not saying this is the problem, but if she's not walked enough, that can be a way for her to get her energy out. When Mikey gets out, he usually runs for about 20 to 30 minutes then comes home. I tried the coaxing with treats, it worked like twice because when I got him inside, I beat his ass. Then I tried the screaming and chasing. That meant I was playing. Finally when he gets out, I chase for a minute, then if I'm not in a rush to leave the house, I let him roam. He'll be back once he gets tired. I guarantee if I walked him more often, he wouldn't run as long as he does. My mom lives by a field. She has 3 dogs that are really bad about running. One knows how to open the door, so we always have to keep it locked. The other one slips out when you're not looking. And the other one climbed fences. We put up an electric fence to cure that. $100 and the stinkin fence didnt keep her in. She went and climbed the tree near the fence and jumped from the tree. After chasing her down a few times, we found that out and baracaded the tree off. But once again, if we walked them more often, it wouldn't be as bad as it is. Actually, Mom's debating on letting them out for about an hour in the morning and letting them run before work. It'd be like 4am and where they go, there are no dogs to wake up the neighbors. We're gonna try that on the next day we have off just incase they don't come home when we need them to, but it sounds like a good deal to me. Now, I doubt you live where that could be an option, but just remember what Graillick said (omg, i can't believe i said that) "Hunger/reward and...fear/punishment." They do need to be taught no matter how useless and tedious sounds. It does work eventually, and even after they are trained, reteach every once in a while. You may know calculus, but after 3 years of not using it, are you still as fresh on it?

Oh yeah one more thing....9AM????? Mad You sicken me. I'm up at 7 at the latest even on my days off!!!! And on the night before those days, I'm usually up until 2am. Sorry, but thats rediculous.

You could always just serve a surprise dish of General Tao's "Chicken" one night for dinner. You'll rid yourself of dog problems and have a tasty meal to boot.

Not my dog my sisters she just dosen't take responsibility for it. And I usually sleep till 12pm I kid you not, so for me that was pretty early. And I was nice to it, at first but then she didn't listen and made me get out in the rain, chase her around just to find out she wouldn't come back in anyways.

Seriously man. If your dog keeps running away, get a fence. Or get a line that you can tie her to so she won't roam.
And Graillik's right. The penny can works wonders, especially if your dog's young. (Though mine is old and kinda deaf now, so we usually just give him a swat on the nose if he's misbehaving. But he sleeps most of the day anyway.)
