that seems ot be pretty fast. But i dont know what long/short times are in the artistry business.

I have no clue, since everyone has their own speed.I like to think I'm a fast drawer(though it takes me a while to actually think of what to draw or how to draw it...)...so drawing a picture(rough sketch) can take anywhere from 5-10 minutes with me. 10-20 minutes if it's detailed. that's not counting "comics", but I rarely draw those...ever...anymore..
coloring is something I can gauge a time-factor on more "completely". It takes me no more than 2-3 hours to color a PO if I'm doing the flats with other colors, but, like earlier this year when Doot and PRG did most of the flats for the PO's I colored before AWA, it could take anywhere from 1-2 hours.
When I did profile colors for DW, bot-modes(which were never flatted for me...if they WERE, I would BARELY get paid!) would take about 2 hours, while alt. modes(unless it was a beast-mode) would take less than an hour.
Comic pages with at least 4 panels can take 6-12 hours, whilest splash pages and pages with less than 4 panels can be done in 3-5 hours.
As for "artistry business", I dunno if that "vaguely" covers the topic...or if I just skipped the point or something...but anywho. Speakin of PO's...my scanner is back up, and I need to take this opportunity to work a.s.a.p; ciao! |
