*sighs* You do know that Mario 64 was the highest rated game of all time.

But honestly the SNES is the greatest system of all time even though nbk did not list it on the poll.

Ah, but she didn't say all consoles, just the current top ones. Basically, the only ones people still make games for.

First I have to say some games are much better on one console than another even though many of the games these days are multiplatform.

PS2 has just enough good games to keep it's fans happy. It has what... NFSU 1&2, Burnout 1,2&3, NFS Hot Pursuit, GTA 3,VC & SA, Suikoden 3, GT3, Gradius 5.... Disgaea, La Pucelle, Phantom Brave and maybe a few other games I am forgetting - mostly RPGs I assume.

** Oni, Dark Cloud, Dark Cloud 2, Corvette, Project Eden, ect ect ect I could go on but I'll spare you the list - were all horrible games no matter how you look at them. PS2 only wins in sheer volume, not quality. And anything EA counts as one game since they are hardly tweaked to make it seem different for the next year. Sad. Tekken was a great disappointment - I don't even understand how you could list that as a good game. >_>

Xbox on the other hand wins over all since it has the great multiplayer advantage going on. PS2 has like 4 games that use the overprice multitap you can purchase seperately for it. Halo 1&2, Fusion Frenzy, Oddworld (MO), NFSU 1&2, Burnout 1,2&3, GTA 3,VC & SA, Max Payne, Soul Caliber 2, Capcom VS SNK 2 EO, I don't want to get up to see what else we own. I'm lazy.

GAMECUBE!!! I think it rocks!! Hooray! You have the GBA player, 4 player gameplay with controllers or your GBA. Not to mention they have several collectors edition disks full of oldskool games that we have all loved and cant live without. Pikmin, Capcom VS SNK 2 EO, Zelda: Windwaker, Crystal Chronicles, Baten Kaitos, Zelda: 4 Swords, Smash Brothers Melee, Alien Hominid, Mega Man AC, Paper Mario, Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime 1&2, Mario Kart DD, LOZ Collectors Ed, Ikaruga, FZero GX, Burnout 3, Resident Evil 0-4, Blitz, Tales of Symphonia, Animal Crossing, Wario Ware Inc, Mario Golf, and of coure the Mario Parties...

You don't even want to get me started with GBA.... Right now I am addicted to Zelda: Minish Cap. All that was great on SNES, NES and N64 are all brought to the convient handheld not to mention the variety of games that suck in 3D that make great 2D games on top of all the awesome releases they have from years prior and currently. Nintendo is smart cause they are making money off games we still love even years later. It's easy money for them cause who can resist a portable updated version of their favoraite classic game? I know I can't. = P

Gamecube does have the best quality games...the only problem is that the systems gets so few in so little time. 2004 was a good year though...Tales of Symphonia, Metroid Prime 2, Paper Mario, amongst others.

I give Xbox second. It doesn't get too many great exclusive titles compared to what the GC has, but the games for it are usually the best version, it has online capabilities that are unparalelled to any other system (expect PC), and the few exclusives for it (Mechassault, Ninja Gaiden, Dead Or Alive, Panzer Dragoon Orta, amongst others) are excellent as well.

I agree for the most part with NBK.
Ps2=Alot of Good games but also a lot of Crappy Games. Like throwing a thousand bricks off a bridge onto a freeway. Some of them have to hit.

Xbox=There are some cool games but not a lot of variety in the kind of games I play nor alot of reason for me to buy one when I can just go over to my friends house and play it. Most of the games I like for XBOX are multiplayer games. Xbox has a lot of shooters and sports game. Unfortunately im not a big fan of realistic sports game and im moderate when it comes to shooters. Online Doesn't neccessarily equal fun. I played Halo 2 online and trust me, Voice Chat= Bad. Non stop crying from people dying instead of trying to play or cooperate, use teamwork, etc. But that's a different rant entirely.

GCN= Lot of games I like. Not alot of real CRAP games so the ratio of good vs bad is alot better. Most people just stick with their xbox/ps2/GTA and OMGZ CUBEZ IS KIDDYZ! LOLZ! The 12 year olds who do that are really missing out. Back in the day we didnt have GTA or ultraviolent games, we had kickass games like Sonic the Hedgehog and Super Mario. Back when Platformers ruled the world. Kids these days are really missing out and it upsets me when I talk to me 3rd grade cousin and he wants to play GTA or something. That's not for you. You're in third grade you should be playing Mario and Sonic. I know you're in a rush to grow up but don't overlook Gamecube. I don't understand the whole KIDDY title that's been associated with Nintendo as of late. Bah. /endrant

My multiplayer/fun game fix comes from GCN

My Jet Set Radio Future fix comes from Xbox

My 2d fix comes from GBA

I would have listed Dreamcast but it died too fast. It was an awesome console too! I have one. No games for it though. = / No wait.. I have Spawn for it (it's fun multiplayer).

IF it had come out sooner than it had, it might have stood a better chance of survival. Sega was a lot like Nintendo, they make the best games themselves (or have an awesome developer do it for them with their classic characters) and it was one of the great draws. The memory card system they had going on was awesome and hasn't been duplicated. I do have one of those!

Heh I even liked the convenience of the dialup and keyboard back when I didn't have internet set up at my first apartment. It was slow, but then I didn't really expect anything more from dial-up.

Oh well. Rumor has it Sega is making a comeback with a new system. I hate to say this but I don't want to see that happen because I can't afford buying 4 $300 systems every few years. 3 is bad enough. I was lucky cause all but my second Xbox and my GC were free (and I got my Xbox when it was $150 and the GC when it was $99). Well I paid $30 for my toploader nintendo.. and $150 for my DS. Gotta love friends and family ; )

Heh I'm not even ready for new systems to come out at all. I know they are in development but it seemed like the original systems were out forever. Now we get a new system every 3 or so years.
