Wow, good deal everybody. That is amazing you saw the COH bus! (Celebration on the Hill). And signed it! I actually attended that event. One person from each Relay for Life went. I am the North Fulton County Ambassador. (and my participation continues...) It is a year and half commitment that started with this trip to DC. It took place in Washington DC on September 18th and 19th. It was an amazing event. I will post some pics I have from it later. There is a pic of me next to the bus. We actually left on September 17th, my one year diagnosis anniversary. It seamed perfect to do that on that day. COH was wonderful and I will tell more about it when I post the pics later on. Shino and Rollergirl have already seen all my pics.

Good work on locating that RFL BWS-1! Hopefully you will be able to attend.

If I am still in GA at that time, OR able to get off time from FL to come up and participate, I would love to. I dont really have any talents unfortunately, not like artsy or creative...I can play video games lmao, but I could assist others. I dont relaly know what else i could do, and I highly doubt me runnin around in a corset with a whip would really raise money LOL.

Anywho, yeah I got to see the bus last year, and I signed it like for 6 people, I had a list going into it lol, and then even helped write some other people's names on it who were older and couldnt reach up higher where tehre was still room to write. My mom is big into trying to do these when she can, shes done relay for life and she did the Avon 3 day walk twice...and does smaller ones when they come around.

well, is there any kind of photography stuff set up? I mean thats really the only thing I can do well, so if Im able to make it, I could run around and take pictures with my digital camera or normal 35mm camera, and then carry like a notebook to get addresses and email addresses and send people pics or something...course if its my 35mm it could get expensive for me, but the digicam is cheap and free and quick to use, I could get pics out to people ASAP doing it that way. Thats the only idea I have tho, or I could be the official Relay for Life photographer and just run around getting pics of the event to put up for a webpage or something? I dunno, let me know and we'll see where Im at come May.

I urge you to take a look because it will explain a lot. Here are some of the basics, although I have read someone else wrote a good bit about it already. I have copied this from the ACS website...

Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society's signature activity. It offers everyone in a community a chance to participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of 8 to 15 people camp out at a local high school, park or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Relays are 12 to 24 hours in length and go overnight.

Because Relay For Life is a community gathering rather than an athletic event, anyone and everyone can participate. Teams form from businesses, clubs, families, friends, hospitals, churches, schools, and service organizations. Team members share a common purpose — to support the American Cancer Society’s mission.

Relay For Life also raises funds. Each team member is asked to raise a minimum of $100 before the event. Teams solicit donations, have garage sales, hold car washes, and more. If you need more help or have any other questions about Relay For Life, contact your local ACS office or call 1-800-ACS-2345.
