Yeah I got mine within a month after release and it was the first line because I was trying to find a mod-chip for it and remember seeing the serial matched the oldest model.
I still have mine today and it's actually sitting atop Shino's PS2 which is also a first run and neither over-heat. Both had the laser changed free of charge. But neither have overheated. |

I never had any problem with my Dreamcast other than Sega discontinuing it. 
My PS2 works just fine after four years 
My Xbox is still sitting in the store waiting to be paid for and picked up. 
My GBA has a broken R button 
My Saturn has a burnt Cart port  |

lol my saturns internal memory battery has run out, cant be bothered to get a new one yet, and PAL memory cards are almost impossible to find |

I got my batteries bulk so I still have some. The Dreamcast VMUs usually go thru 2 in about two weeks when you're playing the minigames. After like two shipments I decided it wasn't worth it. Still I use them for my NG Pocket and other stuff. |
