Plus no one ever said that those other games with rap starts didn't get any flak. True Crime had a bunch as well as GTA. Plus Def Jam Fight fo NY has gotten a small hate following. We just hear about GTA the most.

The thing is is that 50 wants to make a GTA clone. Not only is it unoriginal, but he's pretty much asking for any controversy it brings, which in my opinion is prolly what he wants. He's just gonna play of it to make his name bigger.

He may talk about being shot 9 times and being from the streets and all, but he's doing one of the least "street credible" things out there. And it's all about the money.

Well Tobs, if the game gets anything more than 2 out of 5 stars, it's gonna be a "hit". I personally don't even know what kind of game it's going to be. I haven't played/watched the trailer, read anything about the game itself, or anything. Why? Because I really don't care. So what if it's a GTA clone? Like it's gonna be the first? I don't even play GTA, I'm just defending the man's right to make/be in a game.
Look, ten years ago, he was selling drugs (like damn near everyone making money in the rap game nowadays) and now he owns a 50 room mansion (Stallone's former home, I think). Hell, I'd think I was The Shit too! Be honest, if someone asked you to be a character in a game or have your own game made for you, which would you choose? Would you want to be the lead "driver character" in NFSU2 or have your own game? Would you like to be the main spy in Splinter Cell or get your own game? 50 would not have been 50 Cent in GTA, he would have voiced the character like the guy who did it. That guy is some aspiring rapper from DJ Pooh's stable. He's been on mix tapes for awhile and he thinks he's the next big thing. How many people know his name? I read the damn 4 page article/interview and I don't recall his name.
Now I don't know what company is supposed to be working on it but if Nintendo asked me to voice the lead trainer in the next Pokemon game and Square asked me if they could make a Razer rpg, I think I'm going with Square. Fifty may be guilty of being a conceited asshole but he's "earned" that right by making people money. All of the people that make money off of him are gonna pump him up. All of the people that like him are gonna pump him up. How many fans did Ja Rule have and now he's supposed to be washed up. When you're hot you should milk it, it could be gone before you know it.

In a related item, The Game is supposed to have had his people tried to kill 50 last week over something 50 said in an interview. Game is leaving G-Unit...50 is leaving Shady/Aftermath...everyone's bigger than everyone else...WTF??? Right now that stable is making more money (for all parties concerned) than a small country but nobody's content. It's all part of the industry. Rap is just more visable because it's viewed as being not having real artists. Art is in the eye/ear of the beholder. Who's more of an artist...a rapper who writes his own lyrics and music or a pop diva who has no input into her own songs except to sing them?

I basically say that if the game is any good, it'll show. I doubt I'll be playing it so I really don't care either way.

Wow Gaaz, you may as well stop playing now because not only is the lead character in San Andreas a professional rapper but the game is loaded with rappers from MC Eight to Yo Yo as well as professional actors like Samuel Jackson and comedians like Charlie Murphy.
As for the musical tastes it sounds a lot like prejudice to me. If you don't like rap and it's atmosphere then why even bother to comment on the subject? Your opinions are going to be about as meaningful as a gay man discussing tampons. There's CONstructive critism and DEstructive criticism. Wonder where yours fits in. Hmm...

Personally when I used to play SA I mostly listened to the old school rap station (hosted by Chuck D) and the rock station hosted by Axl Rose (altho they somehow put the GnR track on the other station). And I listened as much for the music as for the commentary by the DJs. You never listen to rap but you feel qualified to comment on it? Remarkable wisdom there. Of course when you spend all your time hating and tearing down things, you might miss the completeness of it all.

ive always said each to their own taste as far as music is concerned and no one in my family is into the same sort of music. you have me who is into almost all rock(i say almost as im not keen on some of the metal genres), my dad whos into 60's classics, my mum whos into 70's and mowtown, my lil sister whos into RnB, my older sister whos into Indie (Oasis, Franz Ferdinand, The Killers) and my brother whos into rap, especially Dre and the like. so as you can imagine ive been exposed to ALOT of different music in my almost 21 years, which i feel has allowed me to make my own opinion on the majority of music. reason im not keen on a 50cent game? i just dont like his attitude and the stereotype attitude of rap artists thats shown in the majority of their videos
