well...with that post up...i have to declare then, that the author of this portion of this soon to be philosophical matter is...ME.

scary what goes on in the mind of a 16 year old when he is at home for more than 6 hours on end...BY HIMSELF!! MUAH!!!

anywyas, i really like the feedback everyone, cause i really want to continue with this, but when i wrote it, i felt that i should have other people read it and let them critique it. I hope that everyone enjoyed me writing about negativity...and soon to come: POSITIVITY!!! when i get into a positive mood of course...that and when i finish my whole research paper Very Happy

hope everyone liked it

~Mike

A very interesting idea. However, I'd agrue that we seem to be more concerned with negativity because negativity can have a greater effect on our lives, in general.
In the example of the driver on the freeway:
The sunset is a beautiful thing, but at that moment in time it is more of a distraction from his current goal: getting to wherever he's going, and the best way to deal with it is to put on his sun glasses and ignore it. He can see the sunset when he gets home. The accident, however, could mean any number of things that could cause him to be late, or he could know someone that was in the accident.
My point is that most beauty exists in a vacuum. We go to museums to see art work, or parks to see sunsets, or concerts to hear music. These places are removed from everyday life. Negative events, however, take place in a very full, and live enviroment. You can't help but be effected by them. Thus, the focus on negativity. I wouldn't say that it outweighs positvism, but just that it's more noticable.

ya, but there is always negativity, even in those removed places. the thing is that you choose not to notice them, because you are a very positive person, like me, and you choose to look at the good things, while i have started to see what i am really missing and what is really going on in this crazy-go-nutz world Strong Bad.

Somewhere in a park, there is an argument that goes on between a family, that causes other families to evesdrop on whats going on (not saying that htere is ALWAYS an argument going on in the park, but i would have to say that is is commonplace), or that you go to a museum, and you are bound to see some family with their little tike running around creating a menase (sp), which causes more negativity, eventhough it isnt intended.

Well, just wait till i finally take the time to write about positivity. That will be much more interesting

actually, there is no such word called positivity (man, now i can be president Very Happy) Mainly because everyone always uses the word negativity, and never refer to its opposite. But yes, there is a word called positivism

that is all Hmmm

Beyond that, I am impressed with your writing Tobias, it's impact on you when you stop to think about negativity is impressive, and question just what you've said about our lives
