Shino, that's exactly what I was talking about. I went to school in the capital of asshole HS kids whose parents bought them everything they wanted. I drove around in a busted-up old Volvo that had a broken A/C, broken radio, and went to 213,000 when we got rid of it, while everyone else was in brand new SUVs, BWMs, and Mercedes....I kid you not.
Do you know what it's like to have your busted-ass car stall-out in the driveway of school to have all the jack-asses in their brand new cars drive by and look at you and wonder why YOU don't have a brand new SUV to drive around in? And I swear one time, one of them crashed his brand new Mercedes, only to have his parents buy him ANOTHER ONE.
As much as I may have complained, I really appreciated having that car to drive around in, and I was genuinely saddened the day we finally got rid of it. It just pisses me off to have been around so many people who had no idea how lucky they were, and had no idea how to be appreciative of what they were given. |
