I think sandy, becuase in my experience, mutts are the sweetest smartest and best dogs u can ever have. I had a pure breed as a kid, a mutt right now, and she is just gorgeous and soooo sweet

Go with the husky, baby. He's so pretty. I mean, the other one is cute, but half the reason for getting a husky specifically is for the husky -look-, and Sandy doesn't have that anywhere near as much as the puppy.

Though, I'm reluctant about the whole puppy thing.

Sandy looks like a golden labrador, labradors tend to suffer from kidney/liver failure and my dads first black lab had phantom pregnancies all her life.

Common mistakes people make are asuming pedigree dogs are the way to go, this isn't really true as they tend to be inbred along the linesand tend to have a lot of problems due to that. Aslong as the dogs records are available a dog thatisn't pedigree (i.e. those thatdont cost an absoulte fortune!!!) you can see exactly what dog types are in its blood line and wether it may have future traits you want to avoid.

Husky puppy. Definitely. Though Sandy is adorable. I just have a thing for huskies...their personalities, their colors, their body shape. Just awesome dogs.

Mongrals (mutts) are lovely things, really are smarter than the average pedagree, that's for sure. My goodness though, that Sandy has a lot of mix O_O Small paws, so it looks like she won't grow huge (how big the paws are, shows how big the dog will get, right?) Shorter hair - so less concern for when she molts - and from the picture, she seems a very confident and loving dog - just by the way she sat up and looking at the camera. You might not have problems with sandy, although she seems the type to get over ethusiastic -but you can have lots of fun keeping her ^^

The husky pup, is more Husky - which is what you adore and it looks tiny. Can't really see its paws, but you probably know how big huskies get. Looking at the husky pup photo - scary mothering urges rise up in me and I want to give it a big hug! It looks so sad and uninterrested and meek. You might have some personality problems with the husky pup - it may be very shy or it may not want to listen. It just seems like that from the photo, is all.

Finally - you can also weigh up these two things:

The husky pup - you can look up on breed books and get a solid idea what to expect.

With Sandy - because she is such a varied mix, you can't buy a book to help. You have to play it by ear.

All in all - go with what you think is the overall best option!

See... I really really really want a husky, but from what I heard, first time dog owners shouldn't go with one.

I know they are medium sized dogs... 50-70 lbs... which is what I want, but I would rather have closer to the 50. And the fact that Sandy has smaller paws and shorter hair are HUGE pros for me to go with her.

I also heard that husky pups can be destructive. Since I will be learning as I go, and my house is not dog proof right now, a less destructive pup would be better.

But I'm still not sure.
