Outlaw Star, Outlaw Star, Outlaw Star.
Seriously Underrated.
Personally I love it more than Trigun and Bebop.
And while It's not Anime,
If you're looking for Western awesome,
Check out Firefly.
It's basically a Space Western.
Reminds me alot of Outlaw Star come to think of it. |

Hey, you forgot the greatest Anime movie of all time: Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. The first one is amazing as well. I highly reccomend picking them up. Hellsing is awsome, and I am severely hooked on Naruto. Now, there are some ANimes to avoid. The #1 Anime I HATED was X: The Movie. I could never watch it without being bored into a coma or confused.
And Scrummy, I have seen bits of Bible Black, and while some H-titles are ok, that one is disturbing...

*slaps head* How the hell did I forget that!
Bloodlust is FANTASTIC! I've always loved the setting, futuristic wild-western, gothic apocolypes.
I didn't enjoy the first movie as much, although it is a classic. Read the origional Novel by Hideyuki Kikuchi (which is now out in english, finally) and you'll see big differences in characters. The book is awesomly written and much darker than the anime. |

On that note don't confuse the bad movie with the possible quality of the TV series, which I heard is several degrees better than the movie, and very worth a look. |

X wasn't THAT bad..... >.>;; It's just, they tried to squish a whole series of manga into one movie - so of course the Anime series is going to be much better - because it has a longer time to explain the story, the characters and so on.
This is why I love Escaflowne the series more so than the movie. The Movie was beautiful in terms of character design and animation - but they re-written the story and the character development didn't have the same impact as the series did.

I think I am one of the only people that loved the movie and the series both equally (Escaflowne).  ! Fans of the series didn't really like the movie, while people that just saw the movie didn't really care to watch the series after that.
I loved them both.
I have a soft spot in my heart for Shinji. He tries so hard, and his father is such a b***ard. I haven't seen the movies, but in my opinion, the last two episodes were headf**k enough.
I agree with you about X, too. I saw the movie first, loved it, then read the manga and saw the anime. The manga is my favorite, but the anime is good, too. The movie, I think, was just something to hook you into the series
On a side note, about Vampire Hunter D - did the hand make anybody else think of Hamburger Helper? *waits to get slapped* |

Ooo... Don't get me wrong, I do like the Escaflowne movie - the soundtrack to, is awesome - and Falcon's power mullet kicks ass. But I'm a sucker for a really groovy story and character development, so the series has a huge place in my heart <3
