DENVER WINS! W000000000000000000T!
Oh... and Seattle too.
So... even though I didn't make the prediction... the fact that I'm a Denver fanboy... my prediction would have been Denver.
Anyway. Today... I'm 1-0! |

Yup, I'm 0-3 right now, happily when it comes to watching the Pats lose too. |

Well my predictions (Thankfully) continue to be wrong.
With the Steelers win, that means Denver will host the AFC Championship game.
And hopefully, they will win.
Right now... I'm pretty much 4-4, technically, 3-4. |

Yay! I went 3-1 on that round.. Told you Steelers over Colts
So this pulls for a very interesting game.
I unfortuantly am going Steelers over Denver (I know shino you can beat me up later)
And again.. Seattle over Carolina.. Why because Car beat the bears I wanted to see the Soup Bowl dance! |

So here we are. Championship week.
Denver beat New England. THANK GOD! Not only b/c I'm a Broncs fan, but I'm SO SICK OF THE PATS WINNING! If anything, I'll remember this year as the day Denver sent the Brady Bunch home! Something that so far only Denver has done in the post season.
Seattle beat Washington. No surprise there. Although I would have loved to see Washington win that one. Oh well. Seattle is the best team in the NFC and they continue to prove it.
Pittsburg beats Indy. WHAT? Holy crap. That's incredible. Thank you Pittsburg for winning so Denver doesn't have to face their Achillies heal of the NFL. Denver has been destroyed by Indy in the past 2 post seasons in the 1st round. Now, Pittsburg will travel to Denver... which all of a sudden is a really tough place to win for an away team. Denver is now 9-0 at home this season. The 12th man has shown up!
Carolina beat Chicago. Well I knew the Bears weren't going to make it to the show... but I really thought that they would get through Carolina. Guess I was wrong. The Panthers are hot right now and next weeks NFC Championship game in Seattle should be a great one.
So with the Indy loss... Something HUGE has changed. Denver is now the favorite to win the Super Bowl!
Which means they will probably lose next week. BUT I'M PICKING THEM ANYWAY!
Pittsburg @ Denver
This is going to be a tough one. Both have great running games and great running Defenses. The Parker/Bettis combo for Pitt is just as dangerous if not more than the Anderson/Bell combo that Denver plays.
Denver has a better pass Offense, but Pitt has a better pass Defense.
Expect Pittsburg to pound Bettis through the line a lot.
Watch for Denver to try to keep Roethlisberger off balance with there all-out-blitz and fake blitz. Since Roethlisberger is a better quarterback AFTER he has to scramble (The only one in the NFL) they'll mix it up.
Something Denver has proven over and over is that their Defense, while they give up yards, don't give up points. Why... Turnovers. Denver was +18 in the turnover war during the regular season. 2nd only to Cinci. They were +4 against New England. If they can get a couple of turnovers, and Jake can keep the ball in his players' hands, Denver will come out on top.
Besides all that. Denver is on a high for 2 reasons. 1) They beat the champs in the post season... In a game that everyone thought the pats were going to win! 2) The AREN'T playing Indy. The thorne is gone. They can see the light of the Trophy!
Denver wins.
Carolina @ Seattle
This one will be good too. Both teams ar really good. Both quarterbacks are really good. Both have about the same amount of yards passing, both have thrown 24 touchdowns. Difference. INTs! Delhomme throws more of them. But still not a lot.
Both have pretty strong Os. Seattle is slightly better. Mostly on the running side. Shaun Alexander is crazy! He already won the rushing title and set the record for most TDs in a season (27). Now he has his eyes set on that ring! Watch out Carolina. You need to contain Shaun Alexander if you have ANY chance of surviving this game. Carolina does have the better Defense, but not by enough.
Seattle wins
Well I guess that's it for this week. I hope I'm right on these two... b/c I think Seattle vs Denver in the Super Bowl would be INCREDIBLE. Shaun Alexander vs the Denver Rush Defense. That would be a good fight to watch.
*prays for Denver!* |

Wow. I went a whopping 0 for 4. A donut ladies and gentlemen, I got schneidered!
But that won't stop me from picking!
Denver vs. Pittsburgh
Nothing is as it seems anymore. Who would have picked these two teams at the start of the season to be playing for the conference title? Shino brings up lots of good points in favor of Denver, and they well have the on paper advantage, but both teams are coming off huge wins, and the Steelers are out to restore the franchise to the days of the Steel Curtain, and General Franco's Italian Army.
Look for the Terrible Towel of Pittsburgh to be flying over Denver, that's my prediction.
Carolina vs. Seattle
The man who will this game will hinge on? Shaun Alexander. Contain him, and the Seattle offense won't be able to get into a groove strong enough to win. Should Alexander get established on the ground, there won't be much Carolina can do to stop the Seahawks from heading to the Superbowl. |

The pittsburg indy game was intresting to say the least. That int that was called back in the 4th was a crime. Sometimes it seemed as if Indy was destined to win and then other Pitt. I almost had a heart attack whn Bettis fumbled it and it seemed like Indy was going to get a touch down. Then old Vanderjack misses a very makeable FG. Like I said it was intresting. It was great to see NE get blown out. You might notice the irony of it. On NE, we have Brady who everybody seems to think is the greatest QB ever. Then on the other side you have Jake Plummer a QB many had writeen off as nothing more than a college wonder. Well Plummer had Dever running like a well oiled machine while Brady looked lost out there. I think the pats have lost too much off their team this may be there fall from glory...finally. Finally if Alexadner is not healthy Seattle might be in trouble against a hungry Carolina team. I think Seattle will pull out since Chicago who doesn't have an offense did score 21 points on them. This should mean that settle with or with out the MVP should be able to score enough to win. |
