A Lesson in Humanity

I really cant say anything against the guy. I mean, his friends phone/camera was stolen, and because of past experiences, he politely asked to get it back. Then, for two weeks straight, the people who had it were jerks and gave him the run around on who had the phone, how they got it, etc, etc, as well as making multiple threats of violence against them.

And you know what, what if it WAS all about the money for this guy? So what? There is still a moral background to it, whether he is TRYING to address it or not. These people DID do his friend wrong, and they DO deserve to be brought to justice. Whether or not this guy personally gains anything from it, well I dont really care. Why should we? If he is doing a good deed, even if personal gain is a factor, it is a good deed... Unless he was going to use the money to buy a gun and shoot somebody or something. But that isnt the case.

Currently $3150 for a sidekick! I'm very happy about this story. It goes to show that lots of people aren't really all that bad. That's a very important lesson that needs to be taught in today's news headlines of terrorist kidnappings, missile test launches, and questionable nuclear enrichment. The good ol' U.S of A. aint such a bad place after all. Neither is the rest of the world of course, the states just have a pretty good set up.

To make me believe the guy didn't do all this just for the noteriety on the internet, I feel all (less the price of the sidekick) should go to charity. Otherwise, it's just as if he planned the whole thing just to make a buck.

I don't think he planned it all, but I do think he should give it all to charity. He does show off police reports and charity letters from T-mobile and such.

I think the story is legit, and I don't think it would be that big of a deal if he kept some of the money... but he's milking 2/3 of what the ebay auction goes for. And that's on top of the $1100 (at least) he got from donations for the site.

I like the idea of what he did to teach these people a lesson, but he said it wasn't about money. That's the only issue I have right now.

But remember he did fold and take some big losses on bandwidth etc while he was trying to recover said sidekick. I'd like to believe that's where this bounty is going.
