What happened was andy was moving my car and somehow got my pedals all mixed up and ended up with a foot on the dead pedal and one of the clutch and none of the breaks, lol. |
I did the same thing once. My brain said well, your foot is on the pedal and you're still moving so that must be the gas! And I pushed the other one. Ran into the garage door... quickly. |

Here is the story.
I needed to move Dustin's car from in front of the garage so I jumped into the car pressed the “clutch” and the “brake” and started the car. Since I did it all so fast and was looking down I didn’t notice that the car started rolling down the hill towards the garage. When I looked up I noticed the impending death of the garage the tried to step on the brake. But of course to perform that action I had to remove my foot from the clutch and the car went into 1st gear. I can only guess that the car covered the 3-4 feet into the garage in record time but cannot confirm that without having a previous time to compare. By the time I stopped the nose of the car had entered the garage door about 3 feet. The parking brake was up but don’t think it was engaged for enough to count. Dustin doesn’t jam it all the way up like me the Zach do.
Result:
2 planes of broken glass
1 garage roller off the track on the right side
1 left side track that was no longer attached to the house via 3 screws being ripped out
1 heavily cracked bottom door panel
1 crushed Rubbermaid trashcan
1 240 now decorated with pieces of glass and some white paint
1 stunned band that was practicing in the now breached garage
1 very bruised ego
1 hour of repairs to “mend” the garage
After emerging from the garage I said a expletive that cannot be said in this thread then stated, “I never liked that garage door anyway”

I just pull it up enough, and always make sure the cars in gear and have never had that problem. But then again I've never dropped the clutch in first with the ebrake on, I'd just assume it'd stall out. |

although this is quite a laugh. I know what it costs to get a garage door repaired/replaced. It's not fun.
I had to get a new garage door... $900. Not chump change.
Of course this was like 3 years ago. |

Does that include installation?
I am going to try to salvage or replace the bottom pannel.
One of my friends father installed thier own garage door so I am going to see what he thinks. |

Well mine was also a single door for a 2 car garage. You're working on a 1 car door. Should be cheaper.
Yes, that was installed, and I probably wouldn't suggest doing it yourself. Doesn't look like a lot of fun. |
