Yes. Iron Man was an excellent movie.

Ultimate Nick Fury is quite blatantly based on Samuel L Jackson. In a case like that, I believe getting him to be Fury in the movie was an excellent idea. Right up there was Patrick Stewart as Xavier. |

That's what everyone is saying but I prefer the old Nick Fury myself. Personal preference and all.
It's like if they made a Green Lantern movie and didn't use Hal Jordan for me.
Or if in the Thor movie they use Beta Ray Bill over some big Swedish guy. |

Looks like Iron Man 2 is already Green Lit and Thor should come out the same year in 2010. Cap and Avengers will be 2011. Some more dates for other Marvel projects as well.
There's a rumor going around that Iron Man 2 will setup or introduce Thor. |

I think the reason I'm not a fan of the blackened Nick Fury is because if you follow comics the white Nick Fury was "Sgt. Fury" back in WW2.
He rose through all the ranks and was a character that popped up at different levels of his career till he achieved the status of leader of shield.
The black Nick Fury just showed up in an Ultimates book with no back story. Unless there's an "Ultimate" Nick Fury comic I'm not aware of. |

I saw it, and it was good  My only complaint would be about the 2-dimensional "terrorist" characters, but everything else in the movie was great.
And also, from what I understand, black Nick Fury was actually modeled after Sammy. |

My problem is a lack of backstory.
Unless that was also taken from Samuel J.
Lets see...Tried to rob a McDonalds rip-off joint. Worked for a black mobster. Learned how to use the force and became a Jedi Knight. Fought snakes on a plane. Finally promoted to head of SHIELD.

There's a mini series coming out called Ultimate Origins which is supposed to explain alot of the secrets of the Ultimate Universe as well as provide an origin story for Ultimate Nick Fury. The mini-series/cross-over Supreme Power set it up because Nick Fury was a central character in that series.
A lot of characters in the Ultimate Universe haven't had their back stories developed yet, the universe is still pretty young but Ultimate Origins is a story that's been building up for the past year or so. It's also supposed to show the origin story for the super soldier program |

Finally saw it! Was I blown away!! I loved the fact that the cgi and the live action shots were nearly seamless, technology has gotten much better and it looked amazing!
Very funny and yet serious too. Great balance and some hilarious scenes. *spoiler alert* I loved the scene on the jet where the staunch military guy is acting all serious, no drinking, et cetera, the scene fades out and fades back in, he's totally drunk and the stewardesses are all dancing around a stripper pole!
