How about a sequel... I already have 2 versions of Chrono Trigger. I don't want to buy it again.
FFIII was fine... it never came out here.
FFIV... ok you're pushing it now.
Chrono Trigger... Sorry Squenix... you just lost me.
Sequels good... remakes good once in a while... nothing but remakes... bad! |
Shut up do you know how hard it is to track down a copy of any SNES era Squeenix stuff over here? near on impossible and we normally get fucked over with the re-releases too, all the Final Fantasy's re-released on PS1 and GBA were released in limited quantities over here and they only appeared right at the end of those platforms consumer lifes, when stores would only have a pre-owned section for them and that was small.
I've never played this, but not sure I'd be happy to shell out £30 for it to be honest, might have to see if its to my tastes by trying it on an emulator or something first, and even if I do get it, I'll be playing it on Chixie's pink DS Lite |
So you would shell out that much money to basically a re-release of the game ... no upgrades... b/c I don't think they are doing anything to this one... just releasing the same damn game on a DS cart.
And if you have the ability to play it on an emulator... why not do that?
I stick to my original thought... square needs to get with it. Their re-releases would be fine if they weren't raping people for them.
FF1 for PSP - $30
FF2 for PSP - $30
FF3 for DS - $40
FF4 for DS - $40 ( probably )
CT for DS - $40 ( probably )
If you want to remake you're games, fine, but at least fix your damn pricing. FF1 and 2 should have been $30 for both on 1 UMD (See Dracula X chronicles). FF3 should have been $30. And you know they are going to screw people over with the prices of 4 and CT. |

They arnt selling the game they're selling nostalgia. A nice profitable side effect of the aging gamer demographic. |

Well I paid £30 for Final Fantasy V on GBA because it had never been released in Europe before
So yeah, I'd consider doing it, but I'm more likely to emulate on PSP as I don't have a DS of my own anymore |

I have to say I'm highly disappointed they didn't even try to use any of the hardware upgrades from going from SNES --> DS
at least with I - IV they reworked the entire game for the port. |

if no one minds me asking, but wasn't Chrono Cross the sequal to Chrono Trigger, what with events from the first game having an impact on this game, the reusage of existing characters, and the like? Or have I missed something in re-reading this post.
And after this, I would like to mention that chrono Cross was a piece of poop, which would explain whz Squenix never wanted to make another one.
Eh, im happy with Chrono Trigger on my laptop in emulation form. I can speed itup when I don't want to take up too much time in a boss fight. Especially in New Game Plus mode.

BM, take your e-peen and get a room
What would be awesome is if Squeenix release the Seiken Densetsu series here as one bundle.

Yes, it was a sequel, and the events of the first game do have an impact on this second one, but you don't find that out until the end of the game, basically. Previous characters only really make a cameo in the second game. And yes, it was pretty bad, probably because it had only the most tenuous of connections to the previous game and the combat system punished people for doing big damaging attack combos by making them wait two turns before they could act in any manner again. |
