Well just came back from seeing the movie. All i can say is Meh. It was alright. Wasn't impressed. What was there was pretty decent i guess. I just kinda left saying, "thats it?"
Youll see what I mean. Worth seeing I guess but not a big deal if you wait till rentals. |

What about as a matinee? And was the ending any good? Or did it feel like a copout? |

The ending was 50/50 IMO. I cant really say anything without spoiling it. Not bad not great either. |

What didn't you like specifically? He said it followed both the alien and predator traditions well. |

That it did not. The Alien movies built up the aliens as highly intelligent and cunning. In this movie they were mindless *spoilers* Basically the whole pyramid thing is just a hunting ground where they breed aliens for the Predators to hunt. They have the queen alien hog tied and shooting out babies. *end spoilers*
. That bugged me. The Predators dont hunt weak prey but it happened anyway. Although there is some forgiveness for that. There wasnt really that much fighting between the aliens and predators there was about one fight between an alien and a predator and then one big fight between *SPOILERS* queen alien *END SPOILER* and a predator. *spoilers* I mean hell there were only three predators and two of them get offed within a 10 minute time span *end spoilers*. Most of the movie was the aliens and predators offing the humans systematically. The special effects were nice i suppose. Story wasn't half bad till the end where they kinda turned it into a buddy film at which point i was disgusted with how corny and unbelieveably cheesy it became. *mega major ultrazord spoilers* Basically the main character stabs an alien through the chest on accident stealing the predator's kill while moaning and crying. The predator instantly shows respect for the lady and rips off the aliens headshell thing and makes a shield for her and it makes a spear out of the alien's tail. That was cool but the weapons literally were used for a single attack and that was it. So then the Predator chucks a timebomb and they both run to the surface at which point momma alien comes busting out of the ground and starts slapping around the predator. fast forward 5 minutes and the queen is sinking at the bottom of the arctic. Predators come take away the fallen predator and give the lady one of those cool extendo pred staffs after seeing the tattoo that the predator branded on her for killing the alien. So shes left by herself in the middle of an island near antarctica with no way home. Then it shows a shot in space of a Preda-alien busting out of the predator's chest. The end. *end super mega spoilers*
The ending was extremely predictable but still kinda neat. Overall it wasnt too bad. |

Yea you definitly wouldnt be getting your money worth for this. Another note: The pg 13 rating was bad. The movie was stacked with young teens. The kind that go "omgwtf alienz roxorz the predazz". Also as a result the violence was toned down a lot and you could tell watching the movie. Hell it seemed as if the movie was made JUST for teenagers on a date. There were a lot of cheesy jump moments. |

I dunno I am still ganna go check it out for myself. Cause the alien's were never that smart, or cunning. Basically they have always been glorified insects. For example in one of the movies 3 aliens got locked in a room, the only thing they thought to do was rip one of them apart so it melted through the floor. They are not and never have been by any means highly intelligent. And every alien movie I have ever seen had tons of jump moments. |
