Well, let's just say it went rather well. I felt prety confident for the most part. I'll post full details tomorrow, but for now I'm going to bed. I'm too tired to think straight and I have a splitting headache. Suffice it to say I think it went overall very well. |

I knew I forgot something....
Granted, most of you have already heard the full story on my interview, but some ppl may still be interested. Anyway, here goes... Overall I think it went really well. I got there a few minutes early and waited in the lobby until the guy who scheduled my interview came down to meet me. I was really surprised cuz he was just wearing blue jeans and a t-shirt while I'm standing there in a full suit and tie. We head up to the 10th floor and he shows me to a small conference room and says to wait there and my interviewer will be with me shortly.
So I wait a few minutes till she comes in (she was dressed up a little more, but not much more). I think I seemed really confident in the interview, and both of them being fairly casual probably helped with that. I know I wasn't shaking and stuttering the way I thought I was going to. Mostly she just asked about school experiences, in particular some of my work in the honors program and group experiences (both good and bad ones). Group experience seemed very important as well as how we handled conflicts between group members and whatnot. I offered, but she didn't even want to see the portfolio of work I spent all weekend getting prepared... blah! I was really proud of it too *sigh*.
The only thing I kinda messed up on.... We had been talking about group experiences in school and whatnot and then she asks "Ok, so imagine in your house you have a telephone in the living room and a telephone in the kitchen but the one in the kitchen doesn't work. What do you do?" This just kinda stumped me at first b/c I really wasn't expecting a question like that. After asking for a bit of clarification I said I'd replace the broken phone since it would save time and effort rather than swapping phones from different lines all day.
After that, I asked a few questions I had prepared. In particular regarding training programs and details about the position and the software I'd be working on. That was it, then she walked me back out of the building and I drove home. Again, I think it was an overall positive experience. One thing she did mention... I asked who my supervisor might be. She said she didn't know b/c there are a lot of managers and they all could use new hires. Finally, she said she was doing a lot of interviews for the position and would be hiring a few people since they're understaffed and would let me know one way or the other by the end of this week. So for now, I'm just waiting it out, but overall I think I did well.
The only thing that bugs me is she said the shifts were 8am to 8pm or 8pm to 8am. I told her I would prefer day shift, but I'm still not too sure about working 12 hour days >_<. Anyway, I think that's pretty much everything. Now just back to waiting until I hear something. I'll be sure and post an update as soon as I know something. |

You are getting my prayers and blessings, that is for sure. But the one thing you said you messed up on, I don't see it that way. Just showing that you would not procede until you had all the potential facts available to you then make a descision |
