EA definitely makes (publishes) some good games. I loaded up Ty 2 for my son and found that's an EA game so I figure one of every ten games in a person's collection is an EA game whether you know it or not. Their non-sports/driving games all pretty much suck ass to me but that's cause I'm not a platformer and I don't think they have a decent rpg (LotR doesn't count to me and I don't like it anyway). Of course I'll probably find the EA logo in the small print of my Pokemon games for all I know.

Also considering they now own the Renderware license they're pretty much responsible for maybe 75% of all PS2 games selling. Maybe the XBox is spared the Arm Of EA but Sony has it firmly entrenched in the rear.

eeee. that sounds bad. Yeah the only EA racing game i care for is NFSU2.. Which is extremly fun. So wait EA is responsible for 75% of all ps2 games... that may be bad. I rely on PS2 for my RPG games.

yup it is, though burnout was w/ another publisher for the first two versions. LOL EA isn't responsible for 70% of the software sales for ps2, but the recent report was that around 1/4 of the total software sales for all of 2004 was from EA games.

But Burnout 3 was completed before EA got Chriteron<sp> studios, all EA did was make the disc's and throw them in boxes and add their logo to the beginning! Wink

I didn't say EA published 75% of the PS2 software, I said they were responsible. They now own Renderware (thru the purchase of Criterion Studios who made Burnout) and that middleware program is used in over half of all PS2 games produced. So when you factor that in and their own software EA gets paid royalties on 3 of every 4 PS2 games sold (including GTA San Andreas, the number one selling PS2 game of the year). Now if they raise the licensing fee for that software, they'll make more money. They almost make as much money on total PS2 software sales as Sony themselves.

I don't know if Renderware translates over to XB programming but I'm sure that any company that pays for it and makes both console's games is gonna find a way to use it.
