Too true. It's very perceptive of you to pick up on that, Tobs. I guess it runs in the family, eh?

While the point is interesting, and it works to some degree, I don't think it's because people have a curiosity of finding negativity. I think it's a mechanism that we've taught ourselves that "nothing good can go on forever" and so when we start feeling positive, we instinctively start looking for something to balance it out. We'd really like to be just slightly negative: nothing going wrong, but we want to complain about it. That way, we get sympathy as well.
Let me see the positive side of the coin, too... |

What runs in the family? I'm assuming you were referring to me in some way... |

ya, well, unfortunately silver, i have to finish doing my stupid research paper, so the flip side of the essay is on hold right now. (Stupid research paper)
anywho, though, the main thoughts of the second part, is how positivism is dying, and that truely positive people can look past the negativity, and only at the positive. An example of that could easilly be our very own sperrit. Anywho, though, what you said about what you thought about negativity:
you claimed that negativity was something that we were not curious about, yet later, you say taht we are always looking for the negative in the positive, which is essentially us being curious about where the negativity is.
well, i dont know if that is really that correct of a statement, so i may be wrong. besides that, im just basing this stuff on my current life experiences |

Perceptivity (is that even a WORD?) The ability to perceive many things at a deeper level.
And, yes, I WAS talking about you.

Whoop. I did say that, didn't I?
Let me try to clarify. I don't think people actively go looking for trouble. It's just that they're more confortable when they have asmall problem to complain about. When it goes away, they're a bit on edge, waiting for a nother small problem to arrive that they can latch on to. They don't go looking for it, but they aren't satsifed unless they have one. |
