I'm allergic to smoke too. I see AZVegeta's point, and I agree that it sucks that cigarette smoke can't be illegalized.

EDIT: Shino, they've already began to do that, military-wise. You now can't smoke for up to 50 ft of the BX. Also, it's illegal to smoke in any government building. Most offices have a smoke-free policy.at work, there are designated smoke areas outside of the building. There are things in place, true. I think they should raise taxes on cigarette smoke.

Yes. We should outlaw cars. They cause far too many fights and deaths to reasonably be allowed to survive. Oh no, can't get to work? Too bad. Work somewhere closer to home. Or ride a bike. Or walk. There are plenty of other ways to get to work, but our society is too focussed on convenience. Convenience is over rated.

Sure there are noise ordanance laws and they aren't very well enforced. If your neighbor plays loud music and you call the cops they come out and tell them to be quiet...And this can go on every night for the rest of your lives.

If yer caught smoking once in a non-smoking zone you get a $300+ fine and are ordered to leave the building.

If noise ordanance laws included a fine and a demand to leave your property for a day or two I'd say it was a fair comparison but unfortunately it's not.

And I'd be more than happy to illegalize cars if it wasn't for the fact that I am moving to GA and would like to get there in under a week and not under a year.

After I move though...They can outlaw cars...I was planning on riding the bike that I'm bringing by car to work anyway..hehehe

Just let people smoke if they want to, unless your chained to the floor there is nothing that keeps you around second hand smoke

My point exactly...There should be an ordanance like a license to allow people to smoke in yer bar. Some places will get this license for the business and others won't because the non-smokers need somewhere to go...It should be up to the owners of establishments not the government.

No it wouldnt, all you have to do is look at it from the standpoint of money.
If every bar was a smokeing one they wouldnt get to many non smokers now would they? So there would be without a doubt many bars that would not alow smokeing.

if every bar was smoking, the nonsmokers would have nowhere else to go. They would put up with the smoke in order to get drunk, because getting drunk seems to be the ultimate objective. Also, in a smoking bar, it is possible to convert nonsmokers into smokers, at which point they will start to buy cigarrettes from your bar, driving your profit margin up yet another notch. You also can afford not to keep the place as clean as you would have to keep if if it was nonsmoking, because no one will notice. The only disadvantage comes when you stop looking at as a monetary issue, at which point you have to start worrying about things like morals, and health, and all those issues no money-making endeavor cares about anymore.

Yes but every bar would not be a smoking bar, there would be bars to appeal to non-smoking clientele, because if they were all smoking bars, one bar would be non smoking and get all of that business. Then other bars would follow suite.
