I've had the idea of the chav explained a bit to me before, and there are analogues over here, although they usually use much more explicit terms to describe chavs. |

I however, have no clue what a Chav is... seriously, what are they? Are they like street corner punks or what? |

Ack, they are basically really bad, socially retarded gangs : (
I read in the newspaper today that a gang of 30 idiots hurled abuse, bottles and rocks at FIREMEN while the firemen were trying to put out a blaze T___T |

Yunni your police need to say hello to the greatest gun ever made.
The Russian Calico...The barrel can be exchanged to allow .22, 9mm, and .45 calibur rounds. With the .22 installed you can put a barrel clip of 500 rounds and fire them all in less than 30 seconds...Teach those kids to fuck with firemen. |

First off, at that point here in the ole' USA, there'd have either been riot squad (or Cop's if you perfer) there with the Firefighters... and at the point of bottles and rocks, there would have been water from the firehoses that were being used on the fire themselves on them. And trust me, 3000 lbs. of water pressure jetting on you will hurt no matter who you are.
Also, if I ever go across the pond, I'm going to have to check up on self protection laws over there... because if it's anything like here, I'm seriously whooping on some ass just based on principle after reading that site Dooters put up. I have never wanted to deliberately hurt somebody, but from what I'm hearing, a Chav is basically an asshole in high school... only the UK apparently has a crapload of them. oO
My family is originally from Mexico (may not seem important, until you actually GO to Mexico, and then you'll see why), and honestly, I can't see what the problem with most of those punks is.
Rocks? Bottles? I'm sorry, but where I've come from, it truely is anarchy at it's worse. I've actually seen people "bite the curb" (see American History X) and all of our cantinas have a barfight that bust out every five minutes. And usually somebody ends up seriously injured. Number One kidnapping country of the world. The cop's are just as (if not more so) crooked than the drug lords in the country. Our cage fighting involves no rules, where people have been dragged out and left bleeding and broken on the ground so that the next fight can begin.
So no, I can't figure out the problem with Chav's. The way I see it, there are three types of people out there 1) the one's who don't fight and either avoid or use only self-defense 2) those who puff and preen and push other people around and may instigate a fight if they think they can win and last (and sadly, this is my group) 3) the group that will not say anything when you pick a fight or even if they are pissed, as they are more than just a slight bit on the ultraviolent end.
Now for the 3'rd group, there are varying degree's, as some will only fight up to the point where the guy has lost and then just walk away, and these are usually the quite strong types. But in my experience the people that are usually laughing, joking, and basically wear thier emotions on thier sleeves are the one's to watch out for, as they are the one's who don't stop once the person is unconcious. I regretfully have been at that point more than once in my life, and for those who have been there know what I'm talking about. I've joined the military since then and aquired alot of self-discipline, but I still have that same old tendancy of just getting up and at the very least informing the person that they're going to get an ass-whooping, one way or another. And it isn't a matter of being big or strong, because I'm only 5'5" and I haven't lost a fight yet, but that isn't because of some predenatural talent or skill. It's because in the end, winning is winning... and somehow I got off topic. <_<;;
On the subject though, Chav's seem like Group Two, and most other people are Group One. What Group One needs to do is make friends with Group Three, as from what I can tell (from myself and others I've found like me) Group Three actually get's along rather well with Group One. They're normal people, only a little (okay, a whole lot) scarier when they fight. That's my honest solution though, besides carrying mace or a taser. ^^;; |

I know my rants are petty. Sorry.
A lot of these Chavs would have a huge shock if they ever go to really serious places as you described above, no doubt about it. I agree, although the problem is, most of them lack care and responsibility - they'd probably not learn, try and start a fight and get themselves killed. They haven't a clue what REAL hard nuts are like.
~ Feeling the hit of anti-jolly vibes ~
Had fun at the Costume party my uncle threw, and i've generally had an awesome holiday - it's nice to spend time with family again. I should be grinning like a fool all the time... But I feel a little sad. Sad and lonely, pitiful huh?
I don't know what I'm really feeling bothered about. I miss my university friends, that's for certain, though. I have no one to hang out with in Wales, I never made friends here really... I went to collage here, so I should have friends, I hear you say? Well nope, even though I had class mates, I never really befriended anyone properly, odd one out.
I felt really low a couple of days ago when my sister came in from work and took it out her stress on me, and then I was made to go to bed at 11:30pm when I was trying to do work for university... 21 years old and not allowed to work down stairs. It reminded me that really, I've not slotted back into family life at all - this is a 'holiday', I live in a rented house in Middlesbrough, not here in Wales. My friends are elsewhere and I'm single and lonely at Christmas. And when you look at it like the way I am, it's not very merry at all huh? *I should join those Mighty Moshing Emo Rangers *
( http://www.emorangers.com/ saw them on a friend's myspace page, check them out, they rawk my socks ).
... I'm just venting like a misrable git.
I have no right to complain, I am very lucky compared to other people and I should be thankful. My rants are petty, and a little self-centered.
Well, I'm trying to be merry and for the most part I am - Santa is coming tonight, after all ;;
Hope you guys are having an awesome Christmas! |

Pretty much exactly the way I feel right now.
I've been "home" for the holidays and I'm pretty anxious to go back.
It's this feeling of estrangement.
I came home and since then I've pretty much been a hermit, sleeping in the guest room (my cousin took -my- room while I was gone ^^ venturing outward only to eat or clean up. At first I was hoping to see some of my old high school friends but everyone's been busy. I suppose it's not any different than any other Christmas I've spent but It seems to have more gravity this year. Single and Lonely at Christmas...
I really never ask for much during Christmas. This year all I really wanted was to be to spend my holidays with the Family I always wanted. I guess I was a bad boy this year.... :3
Maybe Next Year will be different. |

The next time you think your rants are petty Yunni, I'll fly across the pond and personally straighten you out. Sometime's all we've got in life is how we feel, so don't ever feel ashamed about it. Don't ever let anyone's thoughts lead you any differently, and if they do, let me know, because I'll personally tear into them.

Blood brothers is how I survived in alot of places. Sometimes it's the only real thing you can count on. But I'm glad someone else at least knows what it's like. Good lookin' dude. |
