Mitsurugi is actually better at mid range than at close range, according to Mitsurugi enthusiasts.

Yeah, so like I said earlier, Mitsurugi's in close game is lightyears better than Ivy's.

Really?? Summon Suffering and Criminal Symphony are the two most damaging throws in the game. She's got a great game at every range....she just doesn't have much speed.

I really don't find throws that effective in this game, which is disappointing, since I'm a huge grappler fan in VF4 evo (wolf, jeff, goh). I mean, I use them, but it's too easy to keep up a good offense and hell, throws can parried, which still bugs me. Plus I cannot use Summon suffering, or it's counterpart, in combat effectively.

It's not that her in close game is bad, it's just she excels at mid - long range. All characters have their "sweet spot". Ivy's range frustrates a lot of players, and a frustrated player makes lots of mistakes.

Yea....it is pretty easy to frustrate a lot of players with Ivy. For exaple, just try using Biting Ivy (forward+B hold, up or down) constantly. It can be embarassing to be beaten almost entirely by one move. Good players will start to GI it, but if you mix it up right, even that can be tough.

I love that move. Best defense against side steppers.
