you know, i think pot is the least of our problems as a nation. i'm fairly radical, but i think we should legalize most drugs and lower the drinking age, because doing so would cause people to binge less on these substancesand create less of a demand for them. i'm all for drug experimentation, but it's all about doing so in moderation. first of all, i smoke fairly frequently and manage a very competitive gpa. but what i really wanna bring up is the whole "gateway drug" thing, which is total bull. it looks like pot is a gateway drug because most people interviewed who use more serious substances also use pot, but most people who use pot really don't do other drugs. that's just one of my big pet peeves. but i do agree that drugs are very dangerous in the wrong hands, and selling pot candy is maybe not the greatest of ideas. but i have a question. is the candy supposed to taste like smoky burnt pot, or the nice minty fresh taste of the unburnt bud?

Marijuana and other such drugs will not be legalized until A.) The government is no longer in the hands of these creepy neo-cons (and not all conservatives are neo-cons, but they do exist), and B.) The government can find out how to tax it.

They're just floating around, and that's dangerous. If you want to discuss the moderation of such things, you must in turn discuss the government.

I know a lot of pot heads that smoke everyday. I know a lot of alcoholics that drink everyday. YOu can't blame the substance for the person. And you can't blame the government for the per5son not being responsible enough to control themselves. All in all, abuse of Cannibus is bad, abuse of alcohol is bad. BOth have been used through history for many things. Alcohol was used to serilize and disenfect as well as a pain killer in the Civil war. Cannibus has been used since the beginning of time.

Hemp and cannibus are not the same plant. Hemp has such low levels of THC it would take a joint the size of a telephone pole to get high. But the hemp industry in the late...crap something or other was competing agains big cotton so they screwed hemp producers and went to cotton.

The way it goes, both substances should be used only in moderation and have good and bad effects dependant on the person. Do not expect y9our government to hold your hand and tell you what is good and bad for you.

And again, if it is really that big of a deal to you...leave the country and go live somewhere else with different laws. I here Amsterdame is a wonderful place as well as France and Germany. I'm not saying this out of anger or malice, I'm just saying if it really is that big of a deal, move, or quit reading the news. Your call.

P.S. the leading cause of death is stress...so relax...have a beer, smoke a fatty, look at some porn and try to remember your just a little cog in a big machine, and you shouldn't worry about what the machine is doing, just a long as it keeps running, and you do your part.

Yes I have to agree, politics is jumping into this and I think we've completely strayed from what Shino had in mind. The discussion in on pot flavored candy and we should try to get back onto that track.

Frankly, I think pot-flavored candy is stupid. Basically for the reason that kids shouldn't associate marijuana with candy. If it was sold in adult stores, then fine, but don't have it at the gas station or grocery store.
I don't smoke, as I used to have athsma and some things still irritate my lungs, especially cigarette smoke. Marijuana smoke I don't mind as much, it smells a hell of a lot better than cig smoke, but I have a low enough lung capacity as it is. I've got lots of friends who smoke or used to smoke pot, and they vary from a kid who was fried all the time, to some who are very bright but just don't care, to some who are smart, get good grades, play sports, etc.
I have seen it lead to bad things too: a friend's dealer started lacing the pot he sold with meth, got him hooked on it, and then told my friend, "Hey, if you like pot, you'll love this." and handed him a bag of meth. My friend started using meth, which then led to him using cocaine....it got pretty bad. He finally realized what was going on and checked into Ridgeview Institute (a psychiatric hospital) and started going to Narcotics Anonymous meetings. He's been clean for a little over 3 years now.

Anywho, back to the point. Pot candy I think is silly. But if they're going to sell it, they'd better sell it in adult-oriented stores like Spencer's or Galaxy. Don't have it out for little kids to get ahold of it.

I wonder if they plan on selling it in adult stores or not? I think Satine wrapped up what I was really trying to say here...I dunno if pot candy would actually lead to pot smoking, but why try and make the association ya know?
