Ok..I saw the preview for this a few weeks back and I though it looked pretty good. I'm not too sure but I hink it's based off the game - I never played it - The Rock is in there so for me that's one yummy reason to go see it.

This is most certainly based in that game. And this, like every other video game movies out there, looks like a pile. I'm going to probably put this one up there with Super Mario Brothers.
I also find it cheesy that they're trying to replicate the FPS experience by filming from the character's perspective, as was demonstrated in the trailer. |

Okay, a couple of good things...From an interview.
1. They went to great lengths to keep original monsters, and make them look good.
2. The "first person" scene is actually only one thing, near the climax. It's used in the trailer to show they are staying close to the game. |

Very unsure about this movie - but I'll probably see it out of curiosity... because you can't judge until you actually see it yourself. Fantastic 4 suprised me completely, for example - I loved it.

Now, I did like the first movie - but the second film I totally loathed. Oh, how did I rage....
Never played the new game of Doom, but the retro classics was always fun. I heard they are possibly making a Halo movie... now THAT scares me. |

I stull fundamentally disagree with video-game movies. I have yet to see one that didn't leave a bad taste in my mouth when it was over.
EDIT: I must say though, Hollywood is finally starting to get the comic book movie down, so hopefully video game movies will follow. But I won't be holding my breath for anytime soon... |

atleast it can't be as horrendous as House of the Dead lol *hates Uwe Boll(sp? like i care, his name is to stupid to spell right :p) with a passion*
im not so sure about this one.. i don't think the rock fits.. but he might do ok *shrugs*.. i havn't got to play the new Doom so i don't really know what to think of this movie... i don't expect much tho.. either way if i go in not expecting anything i cant be disappointed (unless its like House of the Dead) and i might even be entertained lol
