...and nobody could possibly understand why. Wanna know why? Because I just drank the equivilent of 1/3 of a bottle of 1492 by myself? And why? Because my family has drug issues! HORRAY! I love that!... only not really. Life sucks for me so much thanks to my family and my life. I try to stay happy, but it's really hard sometimes, ya' know? I don't know exactly what to do and my answer to that is... ALCOHOL! Yay for me! I wish most of my problems weren't caused by other people, but they are. To bad. Well, for anybody else who had a crappy Chirstmas, wish you can find a better way to deal with it than me!

It's never easy to stay happy.
I know more than most.
I know that while everything seems like hell...
Alcohol isn't going to be the answer.
It's a depressant.
It won't make you feel better,
It might actually make things worse.

Sometimes things are beyond your control.
What you need to do is find what makes you happy, whether it's Art, Writing, Some talent you have and tap that as your escape. It might be a temporary escape but it might be enough to give you a clear head to fix whatever's going on. You could try to sit down with your family and talk to them about it. Corny yea, but you never know how well it works sometimes. Sometimes things can't be fixed. In which case you might want to think about how you're going to deal. Your family has drug issues, but you don't right? Your choice not to do what they are doing makes you a better person and gives you some respect in my eyes.

Today Sucks, But Tommorrow's a New Day.
Just gotta stay strong and keep truckin'.

I feel your pain man. I've been through the exact same stuff. But Ultrawolf's right, you can't let it drag you down. You gotta' find the positive, however slight it might be, and focus on that.
You might want to also seriously consider leaving that environment if it really is that bad. I don't know how feasible that is for you. But if things are so bad that your being driven into alcoholism it's worth looking into.
I don't, by any means at all, mean running away. Running away, or drowning, your problems never made anything better.
As I said, I don't know all the particulars of your situation so I can only generalize on possible courses of action.
If you want to talk about this more in depth feel free to PM me.
Best of luck to you man.

Both of them are right. You shouldn't look to alcohol to solve things...well maybe if you can't sleep and your problems are keeping you up its ok to use it but thats all.
Heck people here on PO will tell you whenever I have anything tha I can't deal with on my own I came here and ask for advice and comments instead of brooding on things (which I still sorta do anyway), and getting all depressed.
i hope that you can find a more constructive way to cope with life. hang in there.

...

Alright, I'm in the military first off, so I can't run from home. I found out about this while away from home. And before that, my family actually didn't have any issues with drugs. In fact, I was the problem child of the family. I found out about my dad and my sister about maybe, oh what... less than 10 hours ago? So no, this is not the best Christmas of my life. I quit drinking after I finally started hitting a wall in frustration about an hour after posting, and then I got my happy drunk feeling. Other than that, I guess I could be doing better. I still don't know what to do, but hey, that's life. Sometimes all you can do is roll down a hill of shit sometimes.

I'm right there with you Hazard. I'm in the military too. This is my second trip to Iraq and it seems like every thing is alright untill I get out here then life just falls apart and there's nothing I can do about it. You're right, it is extremely frustrating. There's no easy solution for any of this. But, if at any time you want someone to talk to feel free to PM me. I'm on here as much as I can be for the next week or so. I'll help out in whatever way I can.

Hang in there man!

I can't really say anything besides what's already been said, and I can't relate as much as Kudasai Hiroki, but I understand the feeling of having things frustratingly out of reach or not in your control. Hate to sound corny, but at least you have PO to escape to when you need to vent and step out of reality for a short moment. It doesn't feel enough, you want to march right over and have it all sorted out and make it ok, but because things won't work that way, you are going to have to be strong and hang in there. Alcohol just makes you feel worse and it can become addictive, which is terrible, so don't fall into that trap dood.

Have a good vent, seeing what your feeling in a physical form on a forum or email, strangely helps, I find. But that's maybe just be me ^_^;

The Positive is so hard to find much less focus on but I would say that something that helps me is to remember that anyone can do something to harm you but it is ultimately up to you how you react to it. Taking a mental step back from it always helps me.

all i can say is that at least you are starting to get a cool head on your shoulders once again senor...i konw making decisions and trying to figure something on an explosive mind is quite trying. And Alcohol never helps...as yunni said...it just makes ya worse. I've seen too many friends of mine degenerate because of it...don't wanna see the same happen to anyone else.

Shado said it best, "Anyone can do something to harm you, but it is ultimately up to you how you react to it." Just remember that no problem is ever to big for anyone...it just involves breaking it down and discovering what its really all about.

That is all
