April 26, 2006 - According to The Hollywood Reporter, the voice of the live-action, big-screen Underdog will be provided by Jason Lee (star of NBC's My Name is Earl).
Lee is no stranger to vocal performances, having done the voice of Syndrome in The Incredibles. He also appears in the upcoming motion-capture Monster House.
Underdog will be directed by Frederik Du Chau (Racing Stripes) for Spyglass Entertainment and Walt Disney Pictures.
THR says the movie's Underdog "is adopted by a 12-year-old boy and uses his superpower to protect his love, Polly Purebred, and the citizens of Capitol City from the evil Simon Barsinister [Peter Dinklage].
Lee's credits include Almost Famous, Chasing Amy, Dreamcatcher and Vanilla Sky. |

Hrm. Bit of a change, from Syndrome to Underdog. Hopefully he'll be able to make the transition smothly.
(Also, upon hearing that this would be a movie, me da broke out into some of the theme from the cartoon.) |
