It's a neat trick.
Each set of 10 numbers (example, 70-79), with both individual numbers added together, then subtracted from the original, all add up to the same number.
99, 9+9=18, 99-18=81
98, 9+8=17, 98-17=81
97, 9+7=16, 97-16=81
And so on..
The corresponding symbols on the key are identical for the 81, 72, 63, 54, 45, 36, 27, 18 and 9 characters, so it doesn't matter what number you pick from 10-99, they will all be represented by the same symbol. |

I saw it as when you do the little adding and subtracting thing, you always end up with a multiple of 9. And all the multiples of 9 on the symbol page have the same symbol. Except that everytime you play, it changes the symbols so you think that it's guessing correctly.
But again, it IS creepy. |
