I just got home from watching it and , it was fabuloso. They did it excellently, the first III movie i have enjoyed in years. I got to see it in its full digital splendor, and i have to say it was increadible, a little predictable at times, and freaking screams X-Men IV, but none the less splended. and yes, i got to see it 2 days before any other normal person :p.

Anyway, a definite must see.

I would think they would leave an opening at the end for sequels. Ian, Patrick, and at least one or two others are under contract right now for two more films. Hugh and Halle are out, at least as far as the "X-Men" franchise itself goes, though they may make character-focused movies.

Smile I really can't wait. It looked to me in the scene in the church or what-it-was that Magneto and Pyro had stumbled upon the Morlocks. Any truth to this? Feel free to PM me, I'd love to know about it as it immediately opens doors for (FINALLY) Gambit to get involved if it is.

They've been working on a Wolverine movie for awhile now, remember?

Bring on the Gambit!

He was my favorite character in the comics and I was so bummed he wasn't in any of the other movies. Hey Hollywood, what's the deal?

Question...

Was Nightcrawler in this one? I don't think I remember seeing Alan Cumming in the cast list, but I know he shows up in the video game, so I don't know. I hope he's in it, because he's definately one of my favorite characters.

Gambit's not going to be in the movies, and I don't think he should be. He's too popular and too hard to do-- would you want to be the movie company that gets crucified for not doing Gambit the way the fans think he should be done? And there are different groups of fans who see him different ways-- there are just too many ways they could go wrong with it.

And, to be honest, for most of the major major plotlines, he's not entirely -necessary- either. So, if I were them, I'd probably be refraining from putting him in as well. XD

But that's just me.

I -am- incredibly excited about Angel, though. And the Colossus they picked looks good, as does Kitty Pryde. I wish I thought Jubilee was going to get in it a bit more, but she's about as extraneous as Gambit now that they've got Rogue filling in the Wolverine's Little Sister slot.

And I'd love to see Psylocke, but I'm a fangirl. XD.

What I want to see for the next movie is NO MORE STUPID PHOENIX and some Apocalypse/Sinister stuff. Now -there- is a good storyline.

EDIT: It depends on who you ask. I think they've switched their minds a million times about Nightcrawler, but last I've heard he is.

I read in cast interviews that he was not even on their radar when they were doing the calls for the Beast character, but he came in and when he was done they couldn't imagine anybody else doing the part.

Shandriz- Fully pleasing the entire fanbase is impossible. There will always be people complaining about every character. "Cyclops is TOO moody. Juggernaut's costume sucks! Blah dee blah dee blah!" The way I see it, you just have to look at what you're trying to make in a character, look at what you've already set up in the films, and make the character fit what you have. I feel, based on the films, that getting Gambit to fit in wouldn't be all that hard. Especially, plotwise, if the Morlocks were involved, and if they do go the Sinister route.

As far as creating a character the fans would be pleased with, I wouldn't mind all that much if they hashed him up a little bit to be more current anyway. I always loved the fact that they had this smooth-talking cajun, but looking at his grammar and such in the comics, it was very politically incorrect the way Stan Lee and the other minds involved carved him out. I find that interesting, actually, but I won't go into that. And we have seen with other characters, ie development of Pyro, Iceman, Rogue, and of course, the fact that Beast wasn't included until a third film, that they are willing to take some liberties with character developments.

I don't want you to think I'm trying to cut you to pieces or anything. I'm just looking for justifying traits in the movies for bringing in one of my favorite characters. In the mean time, I am quite excited that my FAVORITE character (Colossus) has been included. Also, Pyro is shaping up quite well. Though I AM afraid he may wind up dead at the end of this movie.

yeah, but Gambit is the one character I can think of other than Wolverine that would be hardest to manage to please people with. I know a lot of people who were really angry with the way he was done in even X-Men Evolution.

Agreed. If only people could look at the qualities they enjoy in them, rather than whining because they aren't followed down to a tee the way they were in the comics. :/ they need to recognize that in the movie, the character has to be changed to fit the movie, because i dont think anybody wants to change an entire movie to fit a character.

I suppose you are right, that the Gambit fans are the least likely to accept anything that isn't 100% their original cajun buddy. I'd just like to have like, one Gambit line in there from the 90s tv show.

"Gambit dun cook TV Dinners!"

Very Happy
