Great minds think alike.
I took 2 movies as well... and 4 shots. 2 of the shots (including one that forced me to close my eyes as I took it  ) got corrupted while saving. At one point, my cam turned itself off automaticly out of nowhere while I was attempting to grasp a frame or two from that badass storm.
The sky was charged 100% and we were feeling the discharge everywhere around us! Awesome, it was :3

What's really crazy is that a GIGANTIC storm passed through here this evening as well! It knocked the power out (at my house) 3 times! And the lightening was almost constant. Lots of wind and rain too!
Ahhh I love storms. The one there looked awesome! And neat video/pictures. It really just looks like the daytime in the ones you took, B. |

Reminds me of a thunder storm we had last year.
I woke up in the middle of the night. Power was gone so my room was pitch black. And my curtains was folded so there was no light from the lightning sneaking in.
And the thunder was roaring with out a break. For me waking up in the dark only hearing a constant rumble the first thought passing through my skull.
"Ok, so this is the end of the world."
Then I went back to sleep. |

There was a huge storm in BM's area a few weeks ago on a Saturday night. I was at a party at a friends house.
I actually got to see lightning strike a tree in his subdivision! It was pretty frightening at first b/c it was the first time I had ever heard the thunder less than half a second after seeing the lightning.
The tree looked like part of it had exploded out the side.
It was very cool. Of course the tree is probably dead now and the person who's yard that is will have to take it down. At least it didn't catch fire. |

One thing that I find odd is that we're really, really getting it storm-wise around here. We get one on average per week. And not just tiny little storms, but real big ones with lightning and thunder. o_o
Basically, my computers haven't been able to go past a week and a half of uptime throughout summer. |
