August 3, 2006 - Fans of the first PlayStation's vampire shredding Castlevania: Symphony of the Night will be glad to know the game is soon to make a reemergence. According to what Konami told us today, SotN will be releasing onto the Xbox Live Arcade sometime this winter. Whether that means it'll show up late this year or early in 2007, Konami couldn't say. Microsoft's approval process for products appearing on Xbox Live is somewhat extensive, so it's difficult to pin down an exact date.
In terms of price or extra features offered in the Xbox Live Arcade version, Konami wouldn't say, other than they're working on it. Fans of the PS1's platforming classic will be happy to know that more details will be revealed later this month at a Konami event. Until then, we'll keep you updated on any more developments. |

Una showed me this yesterday. My response was and still is...
Lets see... I have this for PS1, Saturn and I'll be able to get it in portable form when the PS1 games come out for PSP.
*Still awaits a reason to buy a 360*
But at least I'm starting to see good stuff on the 360  |

Sure, you don't technically need a reason to replay one of the greatest platformers of all time... but just in case you're one of those obsessive types -- voila! A complete achievement list for the Xbox Live Arcade version of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Huzzah!
As usual the achievements in question range in difficulty form the mundane (Defeat 10 Enemies without getting hit, 5 points) to the absurd (Finish the entire game, both castles, as Richter - 35 points). If you do the math it is clearly apparent that finishing the game TWICE is exactly 7 times as rewarding as killing ten enemies.

200.6% says to me that this version of the game will be based on the Playstation map and not the Saturn map. It would have been cool if they brought the Saturn version over. Since the map was bigger and you could play as ... dammit, what's the chicks name!
Anyway, I am reevaluating getting this now that it's already been announced that if I want to play it on my psp, I need a PS3. So I may just get it.
Hey... can I just transfer my save file over from the Playstation version... and you give me all 200 points? |
