Auran sucks...

...in air now. As in hes breathing, which is significantly more than Aradia and I could say for him early saturday morning at 3am when we busted ass up to the ER. his breathing was HEAVY labored, but after a steriod shot and some breathing treatments, he was doing MUCH better.

The doctor was concerned, however, and we were admitted to the hospital were Auran has been getting breathing treatments every 3 hours or so. We've been lucky in that my mother and my mother-in-law have both been there nearly the entire time, helping us keep an eye on the boy. No official word as to what the cause is yet (they took X-rays earlier), but the idea is that it might be pneumonia or more remotly asthema.

Anywho, the boy is doing better by the minute but the odds are were spending our second night up at the hospital tonight, so wish us well. ^_^

Wow, that's pretty rough. I too have spent my fair share of nights in the hospital looking after a sick child, or two. I feel your pain, man. I wish you and yours the best of luck!

Cute baby boys should not need to have laboured breathing. Thus, hope they find the cause soon and figure out what to do about it.

Hope everything turns out Ok.
I had a run of Pneumonia a few years back, was a pretty horrible experience. Thankfully if it is pneumonia, you've acted on it quickly enough that nothing serious should happen. Wish you guys and Auran the best!

Awwww. Poor Auran!!! My mum had to rush me to the ER 2 years in a row for the same thing on mothers day. Lol, what are the odds of that? Anyways, I hope everything turns for the better and that you get to take him home soon!!!

Update!

The pediatrician said that he was doing very well and that he was able to go home as long as we keep a close eye on him. Also, we were sent home with a nebulizer, so I have to administer breathing treatments every 3-4 hours for a few days, not to mention a a few other medications that he gets every X hours. Theyre all different, so itll be a mess to kep track of.

Anyway, we just got home and things look to be on the mend. Apprantly it was some sort of respitory disease that is a common indicator or asthema, so well see how that develops. Thanks for all your kind words ^_^

Awww. Poor little guy. Athsma sucks. I had it when I was little, and it was not fun. I've grown out of it mostly, but it still have trouble breathing sometimes, especially if I run.
Nebulizers are good stuff, though. You might want to try running a cool mist humidifier in his room when he's sleeping--that always helped me some. Just make sure you change the filter regularly and keep the tank clean.

Well, glad to hear that everything turned out ok. I know asthma can be a pain, as well as administering/keeping track of medication, but it's good to know that he's doing better and you guys don't have to spend anymore time in the hospital. I hate being in the hospital...

Glad he's on the mend, I'd hate to be in that situation with Rachael, we had to go to the hospital the other day with her (early hours of the morning) as she kept waking up screaming and smacking herself between her legs, we'd of waited till the following day to go to the doctors but it can take about 2 weeks to get an appointment at our GP's.

It was nothing serious, just a mild water infection making her itch, no idea how it happened though.

Asthma can be a pain, but its better than pneumonia, which when a little'unb suffers from it, can cause other problems in adulthood, although I forget what they are exactly (I'm not the biology person in the house, that would be Chixie)
