My personal vote goes towards the X series as the best gaems to have the name Mega Man attached to them. Not only are X and Zero great heroes, but Sigma, the Maverick Virus, Nightmares, and Dynamo are all incredibly dangerous threats. Throw in Zero's tradgic origin, the darker atmosphere, enhanced gameplay, and some of the best graphics and music around, and you've got incredible games.
Though admittedly, Rockman and Forte is amazing, but that is a Rockman game... |

Rockman! Gotta love Rockman! (Commonly known here in the US as Megaman). And his sister Roll! (Get it? Rock and Roll?) Yeah, these games are pretty cool. Haven't played too many of them, but they are indeed, classics.

The hardest Megaman was the first one... but only because there was no password and you had to beat the whole game in one shot. I beat it twice... no more. |

Rockman & Forte (MM ( respectively) is a beast of a game, and is quite possibly unbeatable if you play as Mega/Rock Man.
Forte got the good moves: dash, double jump, and rapid fire F-blaster
My other vote would be X5, as the depth of that game requires you to do so much exploring in order to win |

I loved the X series (only played 1 2 and 3)but my favorite remains Mega Man Zero. Even if it was only in Japanese for me, it was tons of fun! |

Zero did stick it to the suckas in that game, this is true. Loved it because it continues the X series by jumping another 100 years to 22XX |
