Dead or Alive to support Virtual Console "aggressively."
by Anoop Gantayat
August 29, 2006 - It seems like everyone's signing up to bring their gaming backlog to the Wii Virtual Console. The latest to jump on the retro bandwagon is Tecmo, the maker of Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden. As part of a financial report issued on the 28th, the company promised to support the Virtual Console "aggressively." Specifics were not revealed.
Other areas mentioned in the financial report, which covers the upcoming business term, are a worldwide simultaneous launch for Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 and a promise to tackle new titles, with Wii's Super Swing Golf Pangya given as an example. The company didn't make mention of Xbox Live Arcade or Sony's PS3 download service.
Tecmo was a big name at the time of the NES, with classics like Tecmo Bowl and the original Ninja Gaiden series. The latest 3D Ninja Gaiden will likely end up on the Xbox 360, but fans of the original series can probably look forward to a revisit on the Wii. |

Excellent! Ninja Gaiden and Tecmo Bowl will make a lot more people up for buying the Wii. |

Say what you will about Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox, I still think it is one of the best current gen games out there (for me, even better than God of War due to the Hurricane Pack).
But it will be nice to play the original Ninja Gaiden games. Not the cheapen SNES versions that were thrown in on the XBox version. |

I honestly wouldn't know... the Camera was so horrible that I couldn't play it. And I don't have Xbox live and wasn't about to pay for it for a month just to get a patch that I should have been able to get for free.
It's pretty... I'll say that.
Definatly had fun with the originals though. |

There was a patch? Or are you thinking of the new system that was added just for the Hurricane Pack (it added a new camera system that only allowed to rotate the camera left or right...but the First person camera could move you in the proper necessary direction faster if needed for a timed jumped area)? That camera system might have been patched into the game if it was felt that it was necessary, but most people really didn't need it.
And personally, I didn't think the camera was that bad. If I need it fixed, just moved it in First person mode then moved forward. Then again, camera is a problem in all those types of games. I can't tell you how many times I gotten hit by an enemy that was just slightly out of view of the camera in similar games like DMC and God of War. At least none of the games used that same prerendered crap that RE use to used. Ugh. And it is nice that this game (along with Prince of Persia and God of War) use a block button so that way you have a potential chance to dodge or less the effect of offscreen attacks that you might miss. |

Must have been the Hurrican pak then. But yeah... it drove me nuts. I always meant to go back and give it another chance, but I just haven't yet.
I still own the game. |

I own Ninja Gaiden Black, and it rocks. As for the Wii Virtual Console, X-Box Live Arcade looks terrible compared to it.
I can't wait to see what's on the Wii Virtual Console, and, as penny arcade put it, rebuy all the zelda games...TWICE! |

They should remake Tecmo Super Bowl and just update the rosters. I have a patch that updates them up to the 2003 season (I think) that I run on my emulator. Leave the graphics, control, etc and just do the rosters.
Hmm...sounds like Madden |
