O_________O wow. The animation looks amazing. Music by the RZA. And the loveable Sammy-L in the lead role. I want to see it =D
The storyline looks kind of trite. But you can't judge a movie by it's trailer. (Or series, I can't tell which this is, although I don't see S.L.J. dedicating his time to a series).

Thats been on the rise for the past 5 or 6 years it seems like to me. The early attraction between popular black culture and anime was Dragonball Z, and the culture has recently began to adopt pulp samurai fiction like Samurai Champloo. I guess this is just an extention of that, and it shoul;d be. The black originated hip hop and jazz cultures have heavily influcenced american culture as a whole, and by proxy anime that referecences american culture. Champloo is an iconic example of that. |

Also, the Kung Fu genre has always been strong (moviewise) to Black people. We used to run to the theaters every week to see whatever karate flick came out back in the day. Maybe it's just a ghetto thing. It's also apparant in how The Wu Tang Clan bought up a bunch of Kung Fu flicks and released them under their own label.
There are tons of other points to bring up here also but that would definitely take it off topic. Tho Ultra, as a Black man I don't think anyone was making a negative point here. |
