Pls Pray For My Baby..

I found out my lil niece, Nor Iman Alia have to undergo a heart surgery when I was away working in Indonesia (28 Sept – 2 Oct), my twin bro text me to tell the news, he said Baby Alia has congenital heart defects, there’s a hole in her heart, they need to clip the hole so that the blood is not flooding (over circulating) the lungs, I’m very sad when I got the news cos Baby Alia is only 35 days old, she is very tiny and weight 3.05 kg (less than 7 lbs). She is a beautiful baby and don’t cry much.

I was told the doctor performed ‘Angiogram’ (the angiogram shows the blood supply to that organ, including the exact location of any defects or blockages, and is used in diagnosis of disease) on Saturday morning. She was not allow to drink milk 8 hrs before the test, After cleansing the skin and using some local anesthetic, an intravenous tube were put into her veins thru the groin.

Baby Alia had her heart surgery on Monday morning, thanks to the advanced of science and technology, she don’t have to have an open heart surgery, they made a small hole on her ribs and using laser, clip the hole on her heart. I went straight away to the hospital when I got back, she was placed in the ICU, I can only see her from outside, I cried when I saw all the wires and tubes on her face and body. She looks so fragile. I have been in and out of hospital because I’m always sick, I have had surgery, Its painful when the anesthetic is gone but I’m an adult, I can tell the doctor I’m in pain and they will give me pain killer, she is still a baby, she’ll cry but we don’t know what actually wrong with her, maybe she’s in pain, maybe she’s hungry, maybe she’s not comfortable cos her diaper is wet etc.. I can’t imagine a baby have to go thru all these. It breaks my heart to see her like that.

Thank god my bro is here for his 2 months paid leave. He is a marine engineer who work 4 months on ship sailing all over the world. My sister in law is still on her confinement, all of us in the family are giving full support mentally and physically to both of them.

As of today, Baby Alia is still in ICU, the doctor said she is stable but they need to monitor her as she is having fever now (her temperature is 38.2). I need all of your prayers for her so that she will recover soon.

Hope everything works out fine Skylah, unfortunately, Holes in the heart are a common problem nowdays (from what Chixie has told me from this nursing course shes doing!) and its good it was spotted so early as she wont have so many problems with it when she gets older.

Thank you guys.. I love you all very much.. I know I can count on POers, I feel more comfort now.. Baby Alia is still in ICU but she's doing good, still having temperature so the doctor want to monitor her for another 24 hr.

RivaOni, yeah the doc informed us its common for baby to have hole in heart now for unknown reason.. there's 8 cases in every 1,000 babies.
