Yeah that looks right. Our local gamestop has had 2 PS3s in stock for almost a week. I almost went in half with a buddy of mine to sell it on Ebay, but instead I bought a Wii. |

See and this is why I think the ps3 will be $100 cheaper next year.
No one will buy it with this price tag! Even if it is a good deal if you want everything that comes in the box. $600 is too much for a gaming system.
It's not even getting much on ebay right now. Barely $1000 for the 60G with an extra controller and a game.
Honestly, if it was $400 for the 20G version... I would consider it... When there were more games that is. |

Sony just made a bad move trying to be the all encompassing item in your living room. That's the problem, it's not just a game system, it's an "entertainment" system. HD, WiFi, Bluetooth, BluRay, Online, amazing graphics, Dolby 5.1...and the list goes on and on, but a gamer doesn't have that much money nor do they have all the other components to make this system really worth it. Sure, if I went out a dropped another 2 grand for a new HD plasma and a decent 5.1 surround system, it would be great. But do I want to do that for something I only spend a few hours a week on?
Also...Wii is gonna catch and kill 360 by the end of next year.1.2 million sales in under 2 weeks. It's gonna be a battle royale bloodbath and Nintendo will be King again.

I'm with GT on this 100%!
The Wii will catch and overcome the 360 by the end of next year. Even with a price drop... the 360 can't compare with the price of the Wii. It's much more accessable and just a better example of "next gen" gameplay. Not to mention the first party support is unmatched.

Im not a halo fan, but, I still love my 260, and I never really expected to, as I wasnt a fan of the original xbox.
But, having discovered xbox live, I trully believe that 360 will be the leader in the market for a good few years. |

Don't get me wrong. I like what I've seen from the 360 so far.
But the Wii just has a more attractive offer in my opinion.
You also have to figure... Nintendo has at least 400000 more Wiis stockpiled up for the Europe release later this month.
they said like 4M before the end of the year. If they can push that many units out there, I could believe it. However I'm having trouble seeing that happening now.
Maybe 3M.
I think 360 will hit 9M by the end of the year. Then... look at the numbers... Nintendo get's 1/3 (PS3 market share is negligable right now) of the market share in a month... that's pretty amazing.
But this is just my prediction.
It will be interesting to revisit this in a month. |

Yeah, Graillik has it right on the money. I had the money to buy a PS3, and i could have just dropped 600 for the good system. But my TV is going on 10 years old, not remotly HD, I have a decent surround sound system. Granted I would have had a BlueRay player and an awesome gaming system, but on my TV it probably wouldnt have looked much better than my PS2 games. Not to mention, Nintendo took it to another level with the motion sensetive controllers. With the other systems we've got BlueRay, and HD dvd, and kick ass graphics and a few decent games among them. But Nitendo took next gen Gameplay to a whole different level than the PS3 and Xbox didnt even touch. And they did it for about half the price. |

It is hard for me to pick.
Well, ok, PS3 is definitely out mainly that it is just a more expensive 360 with nothing that great really out for it besides Resistance.
But between the 360 or the Wii is hard. Wii is such a fun system to play and the games do have add a whole new experience. But the 360 is definitely no pushover with some great hardware behind it as well as some very nice software.
It is one of those two and it will come done to the software that comes out, but for me it seems like those two will be the more dominant systems...and the fact PS3 keeps losing its exclusives to the 360 does not really help it out either. |
